Runes Reforged Is A Failure.

I wish this was just a balance issue that could be fixed with a few value changes but it's not. Kleptoancy is a joke,at least a year ago when thunderlord's was broken it was just a flat damage increase for every champion, now we have this RNG garbage being the best keystone in this game that is disrupting the entire lanephase and balance of the game. Fervor which was the only reason to not pick a tank or a ranged champion top was removed from the game. For some reason assasins got more and better keystones than mages despite the fact that mages outnumber assasins in this game, riot chose to take away thunderlords from mages and give it to assasins as electrocute. This is not a rune system that is going to last more than a season at best.

So many things wrong with this I don't even know where to start

they took away dft because 'its just free damage' and then just are perfectly okay with aery lol

DFT applied to everything you hit, and applied regardless of the source whether it does 1000 damage at once or 12 damage per second, to every champion you hit.

Aery and Comet are gated by time and distance/sustained spell casts respectively. While comet has AoE, it has to actually land on a target, and can only fire once. Aery only affects one target at a time and requires you to get closer to the target in order to recharge it. Not to mention none of these runes have anything close to DFT's insane 60% AD scaling (before a certain cowboy got it nerfed to 45%, which is still insanely high) on top of base values + AP scaling.

New keystones are, excuse the pun but leagues more balanced.

Its not a rune system. Its mastery's redone and mastery's don't last more then a season at best anyhow. Runes where Ip sinks and handicapped players with out pages + time to grind. I enjoyed them for being able to make some off meta builds work but with out making them free for everyone it was not a healthy system.

I think if you just remove the ability for Klepto to proc damage enhancing pots it becomes balanced. The issue is the same one that economic gain items had in the past. They not only generate gold, but also smooth out the laning phase with affordable stats like hp, mana or health regen. OR you could make it only proc the mini elixers at all once you are fully slotted with non-consumable items. Yes this would make it so you can't proc the mini elixers if you are saving a slot for Control Wards. Good balance imo.

I also agree the assassination tree is overtuned. I like what they did with Electrocute; since it is higher burst but longer cooldown it makes them better at all ins, which is what they are designed to do. It's not quite as good for lane trading because of the cd, so that's pretty good balance since assassins are not meant to be great at laning. My issue with Domination is why the fack do they have access to true damage and bonus lethality, and then down one tier they can still take more damage with eyeballs or get crazy good vision control with zombie wards. Those things are broken as hell from a roam/pick standpoint.

Wait, mages cant proc Electrocute or suck on that delicious +18 AP? (Old Quints only gave 14.85 AP fwiw) Pretty sure Q + AA + E procs it on just about every mage.

Runes Reforged set out to make gameplay more dynamic, and champ select more adaptive. In that sense, it's not a complete success but it is no sense a failure. I do change at least one rune per game from my pages, even though I have 6 rune pages, based on the enemy team draft (like Mirror Shell when they draft 4 AP for some reason.)
