Ok seriously what's wrong with your ranking system riot?

I just went 10/4/6 on malzahar as support with smite (there was a lobby mix up) and got an S+

Where as i've gone mid malz with an end score of 18/3/XX and only managed S...

Seriously, if you're going to attached rewards like the hextech chests to them, it'd be nice to have a rough idea of how they are given. Even schools require a rubric prior to the assignment. Even if it's just arbitrary ratios between different objectives and kills.

Maybe because it thought you were jungle, so it compared your stats to other malzahar jungles.

If you were queued up as support, that score would definitely give you a S nearly every time as long as you warded a fair amount and had a bare minimal amount of cs. If you were in the jungle role but played support anyways, as rare as a Malz jungler is, compared your score to others, and again, been rated accordingly.

In all honesty, support is one of the easiest roles to get S on.

Queue is a verb in the sentence I used. :P

well sure, my point was simply that the game had no way of telling what position i was playing, outside of smite, unless buying gold items flags you as support.

Depends on if you were in dynamic or blind.

Who even cares about these grades? They are completely meaningless.

well really i don't, but it just seems weird to have rewards attached to such an unreliable system.

It should factor your role into the grade, and compare your stats to others that played the same champion in that role. Whether that means your assigned role in the lobby or your apparent role in game as detected by the system is still unknown.
