Can Someone Teach Me How to Get Out of Silver and Get to Gold?

Incarceration··1 votes·1,493 views

Please don't try to just call me a scrub. I actually need help with this.

I'm currently Silver 3 and I am a mid lane main who plays most champions besides Taliyah, Aurelion Sol, Vel'Koz, and some others. I'm having trouble carrying and getting myself to actually think instead of being stubborn and doing whatever I want too. I guess it's just tilt with all the int'ing from top, jungle, or adc.

I also need help on how to track the enemy jungler's movement. 50% of the time, I get camped so I just try to get the enemy jungle to pressure me while my jungler gets the other lanes fed. I also have trouble with certain matchups (Katarina, Talon, Ahri, and Annie), and I have trouble getting a lead because of how passive laners are getting and how hard it is to capitalize on a mistake.

In addition, do you mind telling me what champions are easy to get out of Silver with in the AD and Mid positions.

Honestly find a good duo que partner, makes a hell of a difference. One less potential idiot in your team

Learn from your mistakes whether it's you that notices them or a team mate picks you up on them

CS CS CS CS

Objectives over kills

Play who you are good at not just who is in meta.

"find a good duo partner"

the words of every boosted trash player like yourself

A "good duo partner" is just someone who decreases the number of idiots on your team from 4 to 3, it doesn't have to be someone better at the game than you.

Sorry but where did I say get someone to boost you?

Stop that, Focus on 3-5 champs only so your mechanics on those champs will become second nature to you allowing you to just focus on everything else.

I also need help on how to track the enemy jungler's movement.

Start of laning phase watch for which lane is getting to lane late, if the top laner is late that means enemy jungle is at top side buff, if the bot laners get there late that means enemy jungle is bot side buff, if the mid laner late and has an aoe spell level 1 that means the jungle is at raptors (I don't think this will happen much in silver elo).

This way you can expect what side the enemy jungle will be when they finish their second buff first clear and can ward on the side they are on with your ward to spot a gank if they attempt to gank mid. If the enemy jungle is one of these Evelynn Twitch Shaco however do not use any spells for farming that might damage all your minions just last hit with auto attacks to ensure that the wave will be on your side more (or stays in the middle long as you don't end up close to enemy tower it's good) cause these guys can pull off a level 2 red buff cheese gank.

A good ward spot in the enemy jungle is raptors so you can see them when they get to that camp (Best camp to ward vs annoying stealth champs like Evelynn ), you can also try to get a pink ward in the bush by wolf camp if you can afford to do that.

You also said that people you been playing vs are passive laners, if they suddenly start playing aggressive instead of passive (without leveling up) that pretty much gives away that the enemy jungle is coming to gank you.

Not all jungle champs gank the same way so think about the possible routes they can gank you from base on whatever champ they are playing to ward from whatever spot you think they will gank you from instead of the norm.

I also have trouble with certain matchups (Katarina, Talon, Ahri, and Annie)

If you're playing a ap champ rush item 1057 or item 3191 first back, if you're playing ad vs ap rush item 3155 first back.

Don't finish these into the items they build into just sit on them cause it's enough to let you survive their all ins longer to escape or kill them.

Build what you would normally build after rushing those items.

Edit: your orianna seems to be pretty good, same with your lux and veigar with how few deaths you had (yes it's only a few games you played as them but you sure don't die on them as much as you do on the other champs you been playing).

Just got to work on your lux cs and you're good.

I just need champions to deal with Talon, Katarina, Ahri, and Annie. I know about itemization, I just don't know how to not feed to those champions because the champions I play usually have a hard time against them.

Try Zilean i hate playing vs this guy mid so much.

Really forgiven hit box on his q (it feels like it attaches to me when it shouldn't be) that does stupid damage and can stun if hit by two, annoying strong slows making it hard to move around the fight, and to top it off a GA as his ultimate for himself or whoever else the assassin was trying to kill.

He can rewind for another slow or speed up for himself.

Just play. No one can give you any advice better than that. As you play, you will begin to see what players do and how to counter that.

pay me 50bucks and you gonna be diamond in the next week. /s

Play Annie Brand Zyra Morgana easy as fuck and can solocarry.

Jungler whereabouts just keep track on where he starts. He start blue? he will do topside then go do red then gank like 0350 something he will be ready to gank IF he ever ganks. If you play mid just stick to your half of the lane you dont need to be above your half of your lane with ranged champs. Keep wards in the river bushes and that is all. Keep track of your opponent aswell if he plays passive and suddently walks up you are getting ganked.

Maybe instead of playing most champions, find a couple you're best with and like playing and improve with those. Also, keep in mind the red side of the jungle takes more time and health so you're more likely to be ganked from Blue side later in the game.

While it has been a couple seasons since I've been in Silver, I remember many games involving all players grouping around objectives at random (generally mid-lane, Dragon and Baron).

As such, I'd recommend playing champions with safe waveclear/poke (i.e. Xerath, Ziggs, Lux) and/or strong teamfight presence (i.e. Orianna, Viktor, Anivia).

Try to focus on farming early-game and controlling the minion wave (so you don't expose yourself to ganks). Even if you aren't killing your opponent, a ~15 CS advantage against them provides about the same gold and a kill would have.

I try that, but it feels like I have no impact even though I do as much damage as the AD carry on my team, especially when I'm playing Orianna. I also feel like I have no impact with Anivia, and I don't know how to get a lead with Viktor and avoid ganks. I'm ok with skillshots, and when I play Lux, it just feels like Feast or Famine.

Getting a CS lead is so hard as well because of my poor last hitting skills (usually 135 cs within 20 mins), and how do you really control a wave?

I'd recommend watching the following videos.

While the last two are regarding top-lane rather than mid-lane, much of the advice happened to be applicable for any lane.

Well, for starters, quit playing so many champs. haha.

I got from gold 5 to plat 4 in just a couple months by just spamming my two faves constantly. Swain and Taric ftw.

Once you get good on a couple champs, don't be afraid to play them as much as possible. It also helps, I think, to play a support well. That way, you can put support second and it will drastically lower the number of autofills you get. I rarely play with someone who got autofilled because of it (at least, that's my working theory).

You don't play at night because all the asian players from asia are on and the vast majority of them are garbage because of the latency.

Combine the lag with arrogance and lack of communication and you get the equivalent of Bronze V regardless of their ELO.

After you remove that anti-climbing tool, you go ahead and pick someone like Riven, who isn't buggy.. just has lots of Features ™ and can roflstomp the soloQ with minimal effort.

Disregard feelings, acquire skillz.

Over the last two months I have climbed from b1 to nearly g5 (in promos). All I did was learn how to play 2 champs and play only those champs. I have a 72% win rate on orianna over 53 games. Thats a lot of climbing. If you are good mechanically, which you can learn in aram, you should be able to stomp silvers with her. They always overextend and are super easy to gank. I usually just farm and poke until I finish ludens. Ludens gives ori a surprisingly large amount of damage. After than I just stomp lane and roam. Late game, you can pretty much 1 shot a back line, just position where they wont blow you up. Won teamfights = barons and towers = won games. Some diamond douchedick will probably try to argue with me, but I literally just did it using this strat so goml :p
