In Reguard to Shyvana's New Passive on PBE Today

So I just looked today at what is now currently her new passive and now instead it's you deal a bit more damage to dragons and you gain more bonus armor and MR for each non-elder dragon you or your team slays.

Personally.... I don't know how to feel about this. I mean OK you now have more of an advantage with taking dragons since you deal more damage to them (plus smite does more damage to them as well) but at the same time we're still kinda left with her old passive which, personally, I feel is made a bit worse than before. I mean now your bonus armor and MR are tied to how many dragons you get but what if it's one of those games where you can't snag any dragons? Currently Shyv's passive still scales with level so even if you don't have any dragons you still gain the bonus stats. What we have here, though, is more of a "either you keep dragon control so your team benefits and you can still get your bonus stats scaling high as before or don't and still remain with the crummy 5 armor and MR bonus for the rest of the game." To me I don't like that feeling.

Now I know in reality this is a bit healthier than her previous suggestion of her RNG element of gaining true damage, slow resistance, damage resistance from monsters/towers, and passive CDR, and overall I kinda felt these changes wouldn't go through, but that still doesn't mean I didn't want them implemented. I actually felt these were things that meant something when you did get the right dragon and felt different than just bonus stats, like gaining them would help you become more of a viable pick to choose since you could turn into this great juggernaut-carry type of champion. Here now It's still kinda the same thing except now you have to continually make sure your bonus stats scale better as the game goes on. As well, how often can you get dragons in a game? If you manage to get them early enough maybe 4 or even 5 but from what I play on average it's usually 2 or 3 depending on how many the enemy team got or how long the game has gone on.

I'm just saying my concerns about this new passive. Again, more damage against dragons is great but I really don't feel this passive, in terms of her bonus stats, is much better than it is now.

If it replaces her current passive it is nothing but big, biiiiiiiiiiiiig nerf.

That's what I'm trying say here. If it does go through, it'll make her passive a bit of a feast or famine type of character in a way. Either get a hold of dragon control and still gain good scaling bonus stats or don't and suffer for it.

It's just more feast or famine action being added to the game, not sure I'm a fan of it to be honest.

I almost prefer the current passive.

Granted Shyvana is very good at taking early dragons and can easily burn them down very quickly on her own, with the added damage to dragons, perhaps that'll aid in the attempts to smite steal and such, but at the same time, does set her up for being not too great when she doesn't get her dragons. Additionally break even on dragons is actually quite a high number so the passive is basically a nerf to her tankiness. You figure break even in human form is 3 dragons, not too bad, but to break even on dragon form you need to take 7 of them, not exactly a realistic number given their spawn timers, in fact I think that's actually impossible.

I can understand your reasoning and I will accept that you like the new passive, but to me the new passive just bothering. I've never really been a huge of the feast or famine in the game and when it comes to one of my, if not absolute, favorite champions its no acception. Granted she is getting goods for her like unstoppable ult (finally), and a better dragon E so I can understand if they want to try and balance this out because of that but with this new passive I'm just not feeling it.

I'm more neutral on it rather than in favor of it. The unstoppable is good.

No it's just for her. Any dragons she or her team secures add bonuses to her alone, not her whole team
