Yeah, I don't understand the negative reaction to these changes.

The buff to his ult goes FAR beyond QoL - the instant cast and increasing slow combined should make it impossible for dashless Champions to escape if Nunu was already on top of them, and his Flash-ult initiation potential is now even greater.

The Consume changes are also a net buff. The old camp bonuses were +15% movement speed upon killing a unit, 1% max health damage on AAs, and +10% size and health. The first was generally useless, the second is mostly compensated with his buffed AD and AD scaling, and the third will be matched or exceeded by the new stacking system just in the course of normal clears - with the added bonus of out-of-combat movement speed for map presence, counter jungling, etc. The stacking bonuses are also less binary come late game, where you would previously need the 2nd and 3rd bonuses to be relevant but didn't always have access to them.

Refreshing his passive at base is a nice touch as well.

People had a negative reaction back when he still had the hunger mechanic. And these changes won't change the fact that he's still going to need a rework eventually, just as Urgot's changes last season may have put him in a spot where he could be used competitively in the right match up but it didn't change that he still needs a rework.

I gotta say, after playing the changes, if Nunu ever does get a rework, then I want this little minigame to be in it. It's SO satisfying to have like 700 more health AT LEAST than every other Tank in the match at every stage of the game past 15 minutes.

It is indeed a satisfying thing to play Nunu and seeing people shocked athow tTammy you are and getting killed through your sheer stubbornness to not die while slowly whittling them down.

1% max health on AAs and damaging abilities. So every time you used an Ice Ball it had an extra 50 or so damage late game, and it's on a 2.5-4 second CD. It's pretty relevant.

What Gameplay Sees: a Q change that will affect his jungle pathing and playstyle. i.e, the only thing that really matters in play at the moment.

The Actual Nunu Changes: Fluff and a QoL update to Ult, as well as a Q change that will affect his jungle pathing and playstyle.

ftfy.

What Gameplay Sees: a Q change that will somehow kill Support Nunu despite it not affecting Support Nunu at all i.e, the only thing that really matters in play at the moment.

The Actual Nunu Changes: Buff to Jungle Nunu defense-wise and a tiny nerf offense-wise, and a straight buff to his Base AD and R for all styles of Nunu play

FTFY

I'm a nunu main, and I absolutely love the changes. It actually feels kind of op and I anticipate nerfs tbh.
