About these fast games.

I'd say in about 80% of my games, including ranked, end with everyone having around 3 items which include boots. There is that one person who gets a 4th item when they're like 20 kills and everyone else is sitting at 2-5 or none. Anyway the point is why have 6 item slots? Why not shorten the item slots to 4 if you're going to continue at this rate?

People continue to suck so games are fast. They can't cs, they can't play safe, and they won't ward. All they do is all in when they feel like it and get behind and get rolled over. That is why the games are fast. Because people think this is a FPS and play it as such. If you can't play the game doing those three things and If you can't play patient while getting stronger then maybe you need to play a different game because those are the only reasons that games are fast. It has nothing to do with how much damage is being thrown around. It has to do with the fact that people can't or won't adjust to the changes.

If that were true, it would stop over time as MMR in norms and LP in ranked sorted it out. The bad players would stay down and the good would go up. He's complaining about the very real occurrence of shortening match times, which hasn't abated.

And I'm telling you what I think is the problem. Until he can link me all his averages he has no leg to stand on if he, himself isn't doing those three things. So what I am asking is for him to link his average CS, KDA and Ward rating and if he is doing HIS job then he will have something worthwhile to discuss.

I mean game times are just shorter now. It is something Riot has actively been pushing towards in recent years. Also multiple pro players have commented on how the average player skill in League is far higher than it used to be, even in low elo. A big part of the "turrets do no damage" thing stems from the fact that players of all elos are just far better at juggling turret aggro rather than turrets actually doing less damage than before.

RocketRelm2 votes

Partly. I think he issue is also that damage creep and mobility creep have made "time to kill and get out" significantly lower, which makes diving way easier.

It still comes down to those three things. Those that adapt and do those three things well will do well in game. If all ten people are doing those things well then you will have longer games. The bad thing is that not all ten people do those things well so they get rolled then whine and bitch about it instead of improving themselves.

Actually it is the opposite. Due to snowball potential the better you are at the game the shorter your average game time is. https://www.leagueofgraphs.com/rankings/game-durations As you can see that trend is very closely followed with the only exceptions being unranked 5v5 flex being about 5 seconds shorter than bronze flex games and Challenger solo-queue games being about 7 seconds longer than Master solo queue games.

Overall though it is very obvious that the better you are at the game the shorter games are, because league doesn't have many comeback mechanics, thus the better you are at the game the easier it is to close out games quickly.

It is not the opposite. If all ten players do their jobs and do those three things well the game will not be short. Buy a clue and think outside your box that makes no logical sense.

Bud, I just listed some factual information as evidence. Since you didn't dispute the evidence I can only take that to mean you agree that it is correct, but interpret it in the opposite way, aka: Bronze players are better at doing those 3 things than Challenger players because their games are longer.

Now if you want to have a reasonable discussion like you seem to want to, it is on you at this point to bring up some form of evidence to back up what you say like I have. As of yet you haven't brought forth a single piece of evidence. I am more than happy to consider other people's arguments, but if over the course of multiple comments in which I have brought up evidence to support my argument and you have brought up none to support yours then I am disinclined to agree with you.

It is important to keep an open mind and think outside the box, but when all the evidence brought forward so far points towards the answer being the one in the box then thinking outside the box is an act of denial.

Also I should mention that insults do absolutely nothing to support your points, and only detract from what you are saying. If you intend to have a discussion with someone I would suggest that you avoid doing so in the future as it only discredits what you have to say in the eyes of others. Personally I don't care what you say about me, but you should be aware that is makes you appear childish.

If all ten players do all three things well how does your information even apply? Simple logic is lost on you...

Because the place you will find players who play the game well will be at the top, aka challenger players. The site I linked clearly shows that the better you are at the game the shorter games are.

Now Challenger players are the best at CSing and Warding, if you have watched any pro play then it is clear that they take that 2nd one especially to completely new levels compared to normal players. Their KDA tends to be a bit different due to the lack of kills in high level play. Higher tier games simply involve far fewer kills and deaths per minute, which means that their KDA simply will be lower than if they were in bronze games as there are fewer opportunities to capitalize on. 30 kill Yi's just don't exist in high elo outside of very rare circumstances.

However if you put a challenger player in any other elo their KDA does reflect that, which I believe gives me good backup on my claim that Challenger players are, on average, the best at all 3 of those categories.

Thus the average game consisting entirely of challenger players should be significantly longer than the average game consisting of Bronze players if what you say is true. However reality points towards the opposite, which implies that your argument is incorrect.

Again, insults do nothing to help you. I really don't care what tone you take with me or what you call me. I am putting forth my argument, as these boards were created for the purpose of discussion, and backing it up with the evidence I have on hand. I am also attempting to help people, you in this case, understand how to provide and foster a good discussion.

I am not so petty as to care how you speak to me, I care about discussion. However I want this to be a place where everyone can discuss, and not everyone is a) comfortable with being insulted and b) willing to listen to the arguments of someone who is being demeaning. For the sake of this community I ask that you act appropriately, not insult those you speak to, provide evidence such as you can to back up your side of the argument, and don't discredit other people's evidence without analyzing why you believe it doesn't support their point and explain that.

Those are the basic steps to follow when attempting to have a discussion with someone. As I am attempting to have a reasonable debate with you I am doing my best to adhere to those rules, however if you aren't willing to attempt to foster good discussion with your future comments then I will politely excuse myself and find others with which to speak to as I will take it to mean that you aren't interested in having a discussion and merely wish to state your opinion without a willingness to hear out others.

So you're saying that overnight the majority of players just became worse at moba games? That's a pretty silly statement. You really don't believe that a combination of the new rune system and horrible matchmaking are the culprits here? Every game I play I'm thinking "shit that's too much damage"(even if I'm the one doing it), and "man this guy has absolutely no business laning against that player".

Madsin252 votes

Games only get shorter the higher in elo you go.

Are you telling me challenger players can't cs and don't ward and have no idea how to play safe?

It is impossible to play safe when you can get 3 man tower dived no problem.

You can run the herald down mid after you have snowballed and take 2 free towers because towers are made of paper.

idk how you have 4 downvotes... this is so true. people have no concept of different playstyles. all they know is aggressive all in. if they get behind they dont adjust and play safe and sure maybe give up some cs but save their team some deaths in the process. nope they just say "im getting stomped top lane" and then continue to die 5 more times. people also forget that laning phase is just that, a PHASE of the match and not the entire match itself. its very possible to lose your lane and still win the game. happens all the time. so stop feeding. if your laner is 2 or 3 kills ahead of you, you should prolly stay within sight of your turret or teammates.

Look at how society is. Our President pretty much tells the truth and look at how many downvotes he gets. The real truth is, downvoting makes a person feel better because they don't like to hear the truth about themselves.

It's not the damage but you can whine about it and waste your time all you want. Things change. If you don't want to changethen you can go play something else. It's pretty much that simple.
