Is Diana's R not resetting when interrupted intentional?

This 'broke' in the patch that fixed the triple R bug was fixed. If Diana's R doesn't connect with her target (because they dashed, knocked her, etc.), it consumes the Moonlight but doesn't reset.

I find it hard to believe that this was intentional, but given that it hasn't been fixed for months now, what's going on?

Im pretty sure it is intentional, your ult resets when you hit a moonlit target with it, if your ult gets interrupted logically you cant just dash again, since you never actually hit the moonlit target.

It was changed 4-5 years ago to reset on cast, not on hit.

NEW EFFECT: Casting on targets affected by Crescent Strike Moonlight will reset the cooldown even if Diana is disabled mid-dash.

Then I assume 1 of 2 things happened

  1. Riot silently changed it with no word to the community
  2. Its a bug Riot has yet to fix, nor will they get around to fixing any time soon

If it isnt intentional, they should make it intentional.

This makes it consistent with Irelia Q I guess but I've always advocated for making Irelia consistent with Diana not the other way around given how diana was changed because of how bad it felt to get knocked out of your R.
