I just read about the possible Azir changes coming up, and as a level 5 mastery Azir player I feel like what has been mentioned are really not applicable choices. Gypsy stated that the 2 prevalent options were either to nerf his range and make him a tankier Shurima Shuffle champion, or remove the ability to Shuffle and buff his ranged damage. Removing the Shurima Shuffle... just no thats like removing a mechanic that is difficult and takes people time to learn and making Azir an "every bronze can play him" champion which I hate. [zombie-brand-mindblown] Removing his ranged damage is less preposterous but I think thats a core part of Azir's identity. He is, after all, the "Emperor" of the sands, he controls soldiers from the backline and commands them to do their thing, and swoops in for the final blow with the Shurima Shuffle, which also adds to his identity as he controls the battlefield. I feel like his gameplay identity as it is right now suits his lore and character, being a heavy control mage with high sustained damage for longer fights. Oh there's the problem. "High sustained damage". Now, playing Azir I greatly enjoy his sustained damage, being able to melt tanks and obliterate squishies over the duration of the fight but I find that lategame, I can 3 shot anybody without heavy magic resist or lots of hp. I think that a better change to Azir that would keep him balanced in competitive play, make him not a 43% winrate champion in regular ranked, introduce a TON of counterplay, and further enforce his identity as a champion would be to really REALLY nerf his w's damage, but give it a stacking sort of buff, so as fights increase in length his soldiers deal more and more damage. It would allow teams with cohesion to focus down a teamfight and end it before he stacks up, making him more balanced, and also I feel like the burst isn't something that is a part of his identity. And let's be honest here, w, q, and auto thrice takes no skill at all, but soldier positioning for target selection over a long period of time where you have to keep track of all enemies and all allies as well as all your soldiers and position them accordingly is far more difficult and would reward those of us who put in work rather than make him a champion like Garen Annie MasterYi Darius DrMundo for beginners. So please Rito, don't remove his identity, don't remove his mechanics-reliant abilities, but rather ENFORCE his identity and remove those things that make him no-counterplay and don't suit his character item 3070

Kalista better get some significant changes before Azir,she's been left in the gutter because of LCS and Azir will soon be too.
