Make Maokai viable as a jungler?

What if we gave him increased healing in the jungle (from his passive) or something along those lines? It would be interesting to see Maokai go somewhere besides top every once in a while.

I miss the days of season 2 where Lee Sin, Nocturne, Maokai and Skarner were top jungle champions. Lee Sin less than the others but still. Reksai, Gragas, Elise every game is boring as fuck and has been this way for like 3 seasons.

He plays JG alright now, once mid game comes you can start gaining momentum and late game, if you've built tank, you're a hard thing to kill

It's not really viable though. He's almost as bad as Lee Sin in his current state. Just another overnerfed champ because of LCS.

Lee sin is great in the jungle...people listen to other people way too much. You can jungle with almost anyone but lee and Maoki are phenomenal in the jungle. Heavy ganks, healthy clears, lots of utility late game...

He was originally a jungler, back when tanks were the only class of champion that could easily jungle. Nautilus started out as a jungler, too. It's kind of weird to see how the game has warped.

i think the meta just isn't allowing him to jungle atm

and buffing jungle maokai would likely lead to buffing lane maokai unless they just buffed his dmg vs monsters

He's already a very viable jungler. He safely clears and has great ganks. Not sure why you think this.

hes too slow in clearing and any other aggressive jungler has both a level and gold advantage outright meaning invades are deadly and as a tank hes item reliant (gold dependent) to get tanky. so hes extremely susceptible to falling behind and being irrelevant.

His level 3 ganks are some of the best in the game. He gets ahead through ganks.

He should get a camouflage passive while in the jungle. He's a tree after all.

To improve his "jungling" they'd need to buff the range of his W and if they do that people will just play him top and funnel gold into him rather than have him as an off-tank engage.
