A support does the things other roles do, minus the lasthitting.

Yet support mains try to argue that somehow their role is harder than the others.

The other roles don't have to keep their suicidal lemming of an ADC alive while doing it.

How poorly your ADC does does not make support any more difficult

Throwing lantern to fed ADC is the same thing as throwing lantern to a bad ADC

-facepalm-

The difference is that a bad ADC will put him into a position to need a lantern every 10 seconds even when you try to explain to them that the cooldown is 20 seconds long. A good ADC won't put himself in that kind of vulnerable position without vision, backup, communication, or the confidence that they'll be able to win the fight/trade to make it worth it.

Also the good ADC will actually pick up the lantern

jeezus. Spoken like a true ADC main.

Ex-ADC main

and it absolutely disgusts me when supports mains act like their role takes a quarter of the amount of skill ADC takes.

You can play your easy role and be carried; but don't even try to say that you are the reason why bot is fed; A good ADC will be fed regardless.

A poor adc will flash over the lantern like its a hurdle.

You can't save a poor adc even if you use your entire kit to peel for them.

Except we actually spend more gold on vision, while laners need to be badgered in order to consider buying trinkets (yet never use them anyway).

Several supports require great map awareness, a skill that some people lack. Sure, a Karthus can ult if he realizes someone is low on health, but a Soraka needs her eye on everyone's health bars, the minimap, and the playing field.

I hate to say it, but you're wrong. Supports have their job, just like everyone else. An adc is not going to tank a turret so the tank can autoattack, are they? Supports have their own specific niche to fill, and it should be respected just like anyone else.

What are you even trying to say here

that opening shop and spending gold takes skill? kek.

Map awareness is required in every role lmfao

yeah pretty much

Not a very good argument tactic, it's called ad hominem and adds nothing.

IcyPepper5 votes

shrugs

Just saying supports just have a different job. Not everyone can do what they do, and supports can't do everything everyone else can do. It's just different, no point in comparing apples and oranges.

And DJ Sona was cool. The music was nice. Not a main tho.

Anyone can play Janna

anyone.

IcyPepper3 votes

By everyone, I'm referring to champions :P Sorry for the confusion.

And, yeah, probably. Timing and positioning gets better as you get experience, but Janna is far from mechanically challenging.

EndlessSorcerer4 votes

They can play them. That doesn't mean that they can play them well.

Lucky3 votes

"Different"

No, its simply "Less"

50000000000000001 votes

That supports work with less gold, so they can't fight the other team alone. A good support has more difficulty carrying than good jungler or mid because their job is to help the team. Also, supports are practically the only ones who ward.

the bait is strong with this one

NERDSMASHER50003 votes

"Wow you say true things you must be baiting"

I mean of course a role that does not last hit or even lane independently, is not focused in teamfights so positioning is no big deal, and is pretty much there to ward and peel is so much more difficult than, say, ADC

because warding dragon/tribush is hard and pressing E as thresh when Leo tries to engage 3hard5me

I still havent been able to ward tribush from drag pit since the SR update tbh :^)))

step1: get that useless mastery in the utility tree that extends trinket range step2: never change from the yellow trinket to the scanner :? )

Maybe the problem is that you're playing Thresh.

Support is hands down one of the hardest rols in solo que. Not only do you have to predict what the other team is about to do in a fight you have to predict what your adc is going to do aswel. As a carry your only focused on the other team trying to position yourself the best you can. A support not only has to position correctly with you but predict your moves to protect/peel/activate items, etc.. without dying to the team. Relying on yourself is easy, relying on another player while not dying yourself is another monster.

NERDSMASHER50002 votes

Funny how pretty much everyone in this thread who thinks support is actually difficult to do is Silver or below

Do you legitimately think the support role has to deal with half the shit an ADC does

Live2LetDie5 votes

Has to deal with more actually, adc is a selfish role focused on self survival. Support not only has to keep them self alive but predict every movement you make to peel for you. Doesn't matter how "good" an adc is if they dont have peel they will die. Lets compare: ADC: Main objective Farm, position in team fights, stay alive as much as possible. Support: Almost always the only form of vision, predict the other teams plays while predicting your adcs movement , using all your actives and abilities to peel/ keep another player alive, postioning to be an escape route, taking ults to save a player.

Support sounds so basic in your terms i would like to see you grab a bronze sup against two plat duo and watch you cry that your support isnt helping you.

BluePolarizer3 votes

Support isn't easy. If it was, everyone would be Madlife. LMAO at the gold OP thinking last hitting is hard though.

insaiyanbacca2 votes

personally i fin d adc to be a harder role for me then support, but that seems to just be me

FalconPawwwwnch2 votes

Support has been the easiest role forever

You don't have to know how to farm, or trade, or engage in a lot of mechanics that other roles have to

They'll downvote you but it's true, there's a reason that whenever a pro player gets demoted they get put into the support role

JustMyBassCannon2 votes

The only time that support is the easiest role is when the entire team is literally perfect. Then, and only then, are you backup instead of carry.

Ratbert2 votes

If support was such an easy role, how come no one wanted to play it at all? There are many mechanics only supports really learn, like how to peel, disengage and engage. Most supports need to know how to trade to, especially in lane.

It wasn't an easy role when you had to juggle gold and items like a homeless person with a penny.

Supports definitely need to know how to make good trades/engages in lane.

USG Morta1 votes

Whats harder?

  1. Playing well as a sup with a bad adc?

  2. Playing well as an adc with a bad sup?

answering 1 means sup is harder and answering 2 means adc is harder.

OR YOU KNOW IT COULD BE DIFFERENT FOR EVERY PLAYER

Lucentile1 votes

Actually, supports need to last hit when their ADC is out of lane, when their ADC is unable to get a last hit, when the turret might get a last hit, or during mid/late game when they're the only ones around. So, yeah.

AMYS GRAVE1 votes

Then try maining support to climb elo if its so easy.....

Centuros1 votes

Supports don't get gold from last-hitting like every other role, so they have less overall power than other roles. It's hard to fight someone if you are flat out weaker than they are. Even after the gold changes, they still aren't on par with last-hitting competently.

Strawberrycocoa1 votes

Supports save lives, ADCs take lives.

Different jobs.
