Zoe shouldn't be able to reactivate Q if she gets CCed

Akali is SO HOT··168 votes·18,823 views

Pretty unintuitive and doesn't feel good to play against. You can't reactivate other abilities like Anivia's Q so Zoe shouldn't be able to either. Only a few abilities are intentionally designed to be allowed to be used through CC and Zoe's Q shouldn't be one of them. If she uses her Q in a poor position or if someone is able to lock her down in the middle of her Q she should be punished for it. Her Q is already extremely powerful just by itself so being able to use it through CC is way too much.

It's one of those CertainlyT buffs that break known interactions in the game. It's like Yasuo's ult putting him outside a turret's range if he decides to ult someone that's underneath one.

Every other recastable ability cannot be used while under hard CC, Zoe's Q can.

Teridax6854 votes

This is exactly it. One would normally assume that this interaction would be a bug, but Rioters have gone on record numerous times to defend these particularities on CT's champions, notably Zoe's E not being cleansed normally. The fact that it took so long to normalize the latter, after attempts to defend the mechanic, suggests that her Q interaction is also deliberate, and that there's some internal developer resistance on fixing the issue. While many champions have different inconsistencies, some of which are deliberate, CertainlyT's champions are known for having hidden effects intentionally baked into their kits that heavily bias in favor of whoever's playing the champion, to the detriment of anyone playing against them. This kind of special-casing needs to stop, and we need to go back on the ones that currently exist, which should mean properly disabling Zoe's Q recast while her casting is impaired.

This borderline smells of some form of cronyism when it comes to CertainlyT and what kind of absolute anti-fun horseshit design he's able to get away with.

Can't irelia also put down her second stun marker thing while CCed as well?

Atmosphere3 votes

She can't, not in my experience anyways.

2Charmnot2Charm2 votes

I don't play Irelia much so I can't be sure, but the one time I did played her I noticed whenever my E expires she automatically places the second E at her feet so maybe that's what happened?

TempName548466 votes

nah she can't, she will automatically place it under her if her E timer runs out while CC'd though as she does when it normally expires.

hear me out... what if we keep the Q, but if she gets CCed Zoe throws herself with the Q if they reactivate.

I mean, if we're going to implement ridicules properties on these abilities, we should go big or go home.

So you're saying if they miss they keep shooting themselves until they fly off the map?

just rework her Q into a two part dash

just like Galio E

Camille can E2 while CC'ed. At least while silenced.

LordGeovanni2 votes

Nope. Camille has to E before being scilenced and Move out of a scilenced zone before beingable to E 2.

Automated Riven1 votes

Camille can e before she gets cc'ed and she will continue to the wall. But if for any reason she is cc'ed while attached to the wall she won't be able to E2 unless the cc wears off before the second is over.

Somebody Love Me3 votes

Pretty sure Irelia's second E can as well

The second part of Urgot's ult can be used in hard CC and stasis.

You realise Yasuo's ult depends on how close he is right? If Yasuo is just inside ult range, he's outside the tower range. If he's well within it, he's under tower range. This isn't new.

I don't think logic is a factor when you're talking about omniscient god-children..

Change that into "Zoe shouldn't exist" and then you're set.

Bisaknosp6 votes

well her new skin is coming out soon so i think we have to wait a few months for zoe nerfs

Votable Jester1 votes

I know it wasn't a huge nerf, but she did literally just get nerfed this patch.

KagureNai6 votes

Here is the CC that can't block her Q ( like anyone else can't be blocked by those CCs if they want to use an ability )

  • Blind
  • Cripple
  • Disarm
  • Ground ( partial )
  • Nearsight ( partial )
  • Root
  • Slow

Otherwise, those CCs should make her unable to use it again : ( like everyone else )

  • Airborne
  • Charm
  • Fear
  • Taunt
  • Silence
  • Sleep
  • Stasis
  • Stun
  • Suppression

You didn't mention any kind of CC that you thought wasn't fair and didn't block her Q. I don't remember to have witnessed if she wasn't stopped with the CC I mentionned above.

oh, the irony

She can recast through everything. (idk about suppression)

including suppression, and stasis.

There’s a lot of stuff like that in League.

Camille and Jarvan IV, for example, can move even when rooted if they have their dashes prepared because those movements are forced.

Fiddlesticks and Rumble can cast a spell through stasis.

PB4UAME9 votes

Fiddlesticks and Rumble can cast a spell through stasis.

Actually, no, they absolutely cannot. They cannot cast or use any abilities during a stasis. However, the persistent effect of spells they have already cast will continue to exist until they expire. Same goes for all other similar such effects, Ahri W, Garen E, Urgot W, Zoe W, Diana W, Leblanc's chains, Karma W, Jax E/E2, etc

Chembaron Yamada3 votes

Urgot W does not keep firing under stasis. It does even stop while stunned.

they can dash sure, but the animation and cast were already started. This also happens with ezreal's E if he started it before he is ccd, as for the casing spells through stasis, i don't know why that's a thing, they removed it on ryze :(

Votable Jester1 votes

Actually at least with Jarvan, he can use his dash even if he was snared before he used either part of it. I think that was more for ease of coding though.

SugeMinPikk3 votes

If that gets taken away from Zoe, then make CC interrupt Irelia's fuckin w

Pretty sure the whole point of irelia's W is to be used IN BAD SITUATIONS, like when you're CC'd and need some damage reduction. So doing that would practically remove its entire point

I've seen one day Heimerdinger activating his ult while using zhonya

Jaspers5 votes

He can but he can't actually cast it until he is out. Pressing R once without doing anything else counts as a self applied buff. I think he can do it while stunned also.

Azeranth2 votes

Sellf applied buffs, such as ragnarok, undying rage, Heimer ult, karma Mantra, and so on can be cast under all forms of CC

BlackEyesBlue1 votes

Ok for real... How often is this a factor?

There are TONS of abilitys that have weird interactions with cc. Many have already been listed here.

This one really dosn't feel like it needs to be taken away.

Infernape3 votes

The whole point is consistency. Every other double cast ability (like Anivia or Vel'Koz's Qs) cannot be reactivated when they're unable to cast abilities. Hers can.

Mhmm. And when they took away Trundle's ability to Q towers? I stated they should take it from Nasus and WuKong as well. To which even a Riot employee answered "Different champs have different standards" What's more, I had that discussion down voted hard! I'm calling this thread what it is.
