We need to normalize physical damage and magic damage
Theres a reason why buying MR shuts down ap champions so easily while armor does not. Base armor scales up to 100~ while MR does not.
1000 health and 30 MR gives 1300 effective health. Buying a 60 mr item brings your effective health to 1900 against magic damage which is an increase of 1900/1300 = 46% increase in survivability.
1000 health and 100 armor has 2000 effective health. buying a 60 armor item brings you to 2600 effective health, which is only a 30% increase in survivability.
% penetration item for armor shred is much more effective than void staff just because you are shredding more armor. AD champions damage massively outscale the base armor scaling, buying armor is not nearly as effective as buying MR against mages which reduces damage a lot more and cripples them since mages have actual cooldowns.
Riot needs to either
- remove base armor scaling and nerf ad champion damage to be more in line with ap champions
- add scaling base magic resists and buff ap items to give comparable scaling to ad champions.
Normalizing damage is what made dawn gate way more balanced than this piece of garbage, both adcs and mages use the same item set and even with scaling on auto attacks mages still weren't good in that game.
