Fizz makes me want to pull my hair out

This champion has no windows of counterplay. He's either invulnerable or nuking you for 500~hp with each spell.

His damage isn't even the problem. Something needs to change about his Q E in, zhonyas, and E back out gameplay pattern. There is no strategy or thinking involved. He just repeats it and it can't be punished because he's completely invulnerable. No matter how fed, no assassin can dive straight through 3 bruisers and get away with it like he can.

Fizz is an champion who, the more kills he has, translates to a direct lack of counterplay. Don't get me wrong, assassins need abilities that make them slippery, but Fizz is beyond ridiculous. You just can't ever ATTACK him.

The trouble is though, what is he without his iconic E? A rather ineffective on-hit bot, or a useless fish with a stick. How can we change him without destroying him?

Technically it's untargetability, which has some key differences from being flat out invulnerable. Mostly that he still takes damage from DoTs. More amusingly it doesn't break tethers, allowing Fiddlesticks to do some pretty substantial damage mid-playful/trickster with Drain.

But yeah: Fizz's QW+LichBane combo landing in 1 frame along with his no start-up time troll-poll make him extremely irritating to deal with. Even if he has the reflexes of a potato, the long start-up times of most CC effects give him a pretty good shot at evading them. Leads to the eternal dilemma: do I try to CC the Fizz so he combos with E first and miss my CC or do I try to react to him and watch him end his combo with E?

At least this season his stupid healing debuff doesn't rub salt in the wounds of any heal-based support trying to save their buddy, as Grievous Wounds just got changed to only effect self-heals.

didn't they change his Q so if Fizz himself doesn't hit the target, the damage doesn't go through? Maybe they could expand on that and make some of his abilities a little more dodgeable? I'm not sure that this really solves the main issue with fizz, but it could help
