Is Perfect Timing OP? Does it need to be nerfed?

I am seeing more and more people using Perfect Timing. This by itself isn't enough reason to nerf it. Here is the thing, I've seen pros and high elo players pick Inspiration as a secondary path just to pick Perfect Timing. There was a post a while ago on Reddit, "Stopwatch clown fiesta" which wasn't actually a clown fiesta but everyone on that match had a stopwatch. I am seeing people using Perfect Timing on champions that would otherwise benefit more from other runes, or even paths other than Inspiration.

It is like back when Thunderlord's Decree was used by everyone. When everyone picks Perfect Timing just to have that juicy Stopwatch, isn't that a reason to look at this rune, and make possible changes to it? (nerf it, or buff other runes in that triplet).

outplay mhm right. Get dived press 1 watch your tower deliberately smash their faces in, come back with your abilities up finish the job. WHAT A WONDERFUL OUTPLAY

Nah. It gives mages a chance against assassins by letting them buy a Doran’s Ring before rushing Zhonya’s Hourglass and giving them the active once they need it. Also, giving up the Domination or Precision Tree as a midlaner is quite a sacrifice just to counter a dive comp or ganky jungler a little sooner.

The thing is, Perfect Timing isn't just used by mages. It is used by assassins, by ADCs, I have seen even tanks, supports, and divers using it! Everyone.

True. It is a really strong rune. I see it on at least one person per match. Even still, I still think that’s appropriate because some players pick scaling champions into early ones. For a support example, think of Sona into Blitzcrank. It’s a strong counter-snowball mechanic that costs two runes.

LCS will get it nerfed more than likely because everyone will use it.

How would it be nerfed? It's a 1 time use item that you can only use after... What is it five minutes? I'm not sure what could be changed about it... Make the stasis time shorter? Make it a channel activate?

They could nerf the time which it will be avaliable, Increase it to 10 minutes or something. Or even more. Also, reduce the gold that Stopwatch will sell after that.

With a 10 minute timer, you may as well remove it all together because you would have bought it by then.

Horseshit, people have no qualms with potentially waiting 10 minutes for free boots.

Yeah but boots don't give you a chance to avoid death by becoming invulnerable. But then again people may wait. But if it becomes a 10 minute timer, then like the boots, the stopwatch shouldn't be in an item slot until 10 minutes in. Rather than waste a spot on a useless, unusable item for 10 minutes.

For the sheer gold value alone it's honestly quick good, not to mention the fact that it also reduces the cooldown of Zhonya's hourglass, Guardian Angel, and Gargoyle stoneplate by 15%.

The main point is you don't have to buy it.

Why would you not take it if you are going to build one of those items. It is free gold.

I mean it's just a generic keystone in a selection of more niche picks.

Hexflash is incredibly niche. Only really working well on certain champions who has unique interactions with it. (Like Hexflash Riven combos)

Cookies are great, but considering your limited and linear access too them they're not nearly as reliable as Perfect Timing. If they were made purchaseable or perhaps offered pots at a reduced price, they would more then likely see more use.

Perfect timing is op. I've known it was op since a while ago in preseason. It gets picked almost everytime in the inspiration tree because the other 2 are either a little weak or too niche but it gives way too much currently and is op on it's own. 300 free gold, get a free from death card, and 15% permanent stat buff.
