Leona and Diana have some of the best lore in the game yet they have no voice lines and no interactions between them. This is a petition for some Diana/Leona love.

Diana's was definitely an improvement over her old. Made her less fury and more human. Leona's is probably down to every1's preference, but I will admit I miss her and Pantheon's friendship. But at least they've now tied her into Diana more and given her a goal.

No. Her new lore took away the agency of her actions. Her old(true lore as far as i'm concerned) was about someone who tried and tried to fit in and be/think for herself in a world where challenging the status quo is EVIL. She wanted to help them see the truth, but the contempt and constant abuse from her fellow solari twisted her desire to be accepted, and turned it into hatred and scorn(like "the scorn of the moon"). They also changed her from being a solari to being an outsider that was adopted into the solari, which makes her difference in belief expected rather than a true "black sheep". Her old lore makes her skepticism of the solari FAR more exceptional and telling of her character. It's also believed by me and a few others that the moon crest on her forehead, was in fact "branded" on her as a punishment for being a "heretic". https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/originals/92/14/d0/9214d0f35721d18d9c2aaaafe4c0e165.jpg This theory comes from the fact that in this^ official character face drawing of diana you can see that there is a fair amount of scarring around the crest. Some think the scaring on her eyes was from her tears boiling from the heat of the brand, but idk if that makes sense.

Her new lore made her a victim of both the solari and the aspect of the moon. She was turned into a cliche outsider/Cinderella character that didn't fit in with her adopted family, because of her BIRTH, not her choice. When the solari decide to execute her, it's the aspect of the moon that kills the elders not diana(changing the circumstance of the massacre from being given strength of the moon at the final moment(when her heart breaks) to she just gets angry and kills them( aka the aspect channels fury though her) is total BS. She regrets what happened instantly and runs away still thinking of ways to be friends with the solari... BLEH!

Not to mention that the writing is atrocious. It's written like a fan fic, with so many cliches, and over wordy nonsense.

Diana was appalled. How could the elders reject what was so patently true? How could they turn their back on revelations brought from the very summit of the holy mountain? Her fury built at their willful blindness, and blazing Pale orbs of silver fire spun in the air around her. With a scream of rage-fueled frustration, Diana's sword swept out, and where it struck, silver fire burned with killing Crescent light. Again and again, Diana lashed out and when her fury ebbed, she saw the carnage she had unleashed. The elders were dead and Leona lay on her back, her armor smoking as though fresh from the forge. Appalled at what she had done, Diana fled the site of the massacre, escaping into the wilds of Mount Targon as the Solari reeled from the savagery of her attack.

Like where do you even start with this?! "Diana was appalled." Oh dear! that's not good right? lmao "How could the elders reject what was so patently true?" WTF is this question? like do you not knwo? am i supposed to answer it? why is there a nonsense rhetorical test in the middle of this lore entry?! etc etc.

Diana is my all time favorite character in league. As a heretic myself, that could never say what i thought growing up for fear what would come from it, and then being disowned after i told them my belief(or lack of) and tried to get them to understand; Diana's story is so relatable and beautiful it hurt when i read it. The new lore has none of the character or soul that her original lore had. It's just hollow shell with no substance.

More voice updates would be fantastic for champions that don't need visual or gameplay updates, like what they did with Lux.

There are lots of newer champions that taunt some older champions with the older champions just saying silent.

I have no idea what other champions have to do with this thread, considering you are quite specific that this is about Leona/Diana...

And on that note: Yes, I think Leona/Diana should get some interactional voicelines.

riot will obviously update them when they have the time after reworking other charcters, every champion will get outdated one day and require a rework, league will never not have reworks, a petition will change nothing for when they will be updated one day regardless and it wont be for awhile as we know urgot and eve and older champs are still infront of em

Taking into account new lores, Diana and Nami could have a really cute interaction in the game as well. It's a real shame Riot is always letting down with Voice overs, some are really what make or break the characters sometimes. I.e MissFortune does a great job of discrediting her character. Whereas Jhin quotes easily make him one of the most liked characters in the game.

AFAIK all recent VOs have been pretty good, bad ones like MF are relics of the past... unless you count Taliyah, but even Taliyah's VO reinforces her character for the most part and I'm honestly not sure how it could've been written that much better without rewriting who she is, which is someone who's not entirely used to the whole earth mage thing or life in general and is loyal to traditional post-imperial Shuriman values... though most of that latter part does, really, come form her VO. It's really debatable, but yeah, if you just completely ignore Taliyah, recent VOs have all been good.

I'm not saying new VO's are bad. I'm saying Riot is really dropping the ball in regards to older ones. MF went through her update without a new VO, and so did Sejuani, Janna, Kassadin, Sona, Shen and a lot of other champions who have gone through 'Updates' in the past. Riot REALLY needs to get onto updating their old VO's. As new champions are released and others are updated, Riots older VO's, like their older designs really show their flaws.

The Art department at Riot is generally pretty great, their Designs are improving, their Textures are great, new animations, new models. But the Audio department just continues to drop the ball. (That goes for more then just VO's as well. The 2016 SKT skins SFX were a pathetic joke).

We've had 2 solo VO Updates in pretty much the entire history of the game, Maokai and Lux. Unfortunately that seems all that Riot is gonna be doing which is a massive disappointment.

I'll never understand the sentiment of Taliyah's VO being bad. It's not even debateable. Just because she's not a cocky douchebag, a stupid cheerful girl or a sultry vixen doesn't make her VO bad in any shape of form. Her lines are fun, cute and a little bit philo at times. Sure her "Throw Another Rock!" quote gets annoying, but that was because of a bug that's now been fixed.

First off I'm immediately retracting every negative remark about Taliyah's VO right now, since I just got her from a reroll and played her in practice tool for like the first time and wow is it way better than just those few grating lines that you can actually hear when you're not playing her. Anyhow, I'd not be at all surprised if more champions get improved VOs in the near future under similar circumstances to those encountered by Lux and Maokai: either they're doing large scale work with their VA anyhow (like recording Elementalist Lux's VO) or they're receiving other changes (like Maokai in midseason), and of course their current VO is perceived as subpar. Both of the only VO updates in the history of the game so far were this year, so it's not at all unrealistic to expect more now that Lux and Maokai have set a precedent for such things happening.

There's alot of Champions who could use some love in their VO, Diana & Leona would definitely be nice options. I think champions like Shen Malzahar Singed Nasus could be other good ones as well. Only one that needs no update is this guy Rammus , He's OK where he is.

There are a lot of champions who could use new voice lines. Ahri comes to mind immediately for me since she's my main and does not need any sort of visual or gameplay update.
