Why do people say gg when the g was b?
It honestly just feels like rubbing salt in the wound when a 20-55 game ends with a slew of "gg" "gg" "ggez" "ggggg"s.
Why do people say this kind of shit, just to be rude?

"ggez" is to rub salt in the wound, yes. "gg" doesn't have to be. Just because you got stomped doesn't mean you didn't play to your best ability, and to some of us, that's worth respect. Stuck to your guns and went down fighting? "GG." Completely smashed my face in with superior ability? "GG." Opened mid? I'm not saying anything. Had a teammate go AFK but you put up a fight? "Well played, sorry about [AFK person]."
Don't take it as an insult just because you lost heavily. Not everyone's trying to disrespect you. Except those "ggez" guys. They definitely want you to think you're trash.
It's called sportsmanship. Or courtesy. Some people say gg to acknowledge Thier opponents effort. Sone to reenforce sportsmanship. Some to confirm victory, some to salt.
Whatever the reason ggwp back is all you need to say to show your own sportsmanship. If you are really wounded and doe not feel like saying anhthing is ok too. It's all in your head by the end of the day

This guy, Spot on ^
Its about sportsmanship. Like when you played a sport as a kid growing up, at the end of the game you line up, shake hands, and say good game to the opposition. Its the same concept.
Because it was a good game. May have been one sided, but that doesnt mean it was a bad game. Maybe for you it was bad, but for them it was good, so gg.
as a canadian, i say GG at the end of a game because im polite. its like saying sorry yknow!
GG is basically ingame handshake. Not saying gg or saying BG is rude and salty.
honesly i'm guessing the same a lot of times.
Just few days ago had a 0/9/2 Teemo ( on my promotion ) top that said GG when the enemies won at 17 min ... i was like: "Are you for real? You at least realized you screwed us?"
If your best friends wife is a shit cook you still say thank you for the meal when you go over for dinner.
I always say "GG WP" even If our team got wrekt or we ended up destroying the other team. Even if me or my teammates were dumpster fires, it has just become a habit of mine that I don't even think about. I just say it and move on to the next game.
