Why did yi need this buff?

I ask this question out of pure curiousity. A champion with such a low skill ceiling Is made even lower with this ghosting mechanic added to his ult.

Now you just press r, right click on a champion click q and e once in a while.

You don't even have to choose the fastest path because he can walk through minions

Yi got a huge indirect buff with wits end which is basically tailored for his kit . i think this buff was really unnecessary

As a yi 1 trick, I can confirm that all ya gotta do is cc him ;)

If yi gets rooted he just clicks w and basically ignores everything thrown at him

If he gets rooted and uses meditate, you can just hard cc him while he cant move.......

  1. root is hard cc

2)Not all team comps have stuns.. If yi was a last pick and no body took a stun ?

Even if you do have a stun, either you miss or you use it on somebody else and yi becomes unstoppable.

Even if you use all your CC on him, kill him, you still got 4 other people to worry about who will wipe your entire team because you ain't got any cc left.

I just don't think it makes sense that one champion if not given all the focus can literally wreck havoc so easily and without even a high skill ceiling.

Isn't this what Yi's Ult did when the game started?

I mean they HAD to buff yi in some way after indirectly nerfing him with bork change (cost increase) And the conqueror rework/nerf

so they gave him new wits end and ghosting effect

Riot cant actually touch yi himself that much, in fear that he will just break or be unplayable,

so they have to indirectly nerf/buff him with items

Rageblade, Bork, Bloodrazor,

Hell he needed this after the JG XP nerf.

Well, 100 gold increase on botrk doesn't justify such a big buff... if you ask me..

Wits end... works simply too good on him. Again an indirect buff, but still a huge buff.

I actually tested him with a friend. He can win rammus late game(which is his biggest counter) using wits end. That item is just too good on him.

Funny enough if you pick rammus to counter yi you're just asking to lose,

Jax and Udyr are the only ones in the game currently that can beat yi in all stages of the game, early mid and full build (if played right)

Asking to lose? rammus is the biggest yi counter in the game.

It's just that item 3091 exists yi actually heals per hit more than the damage that he takes from rammus' w. It also gives him magic resist... perfect counter to rammus.

Before the rework of wits end i've seen rammuses basically click W > E on a master yi and literally watched him kill himself.
