The Possibility of a Tank Meta and Maybe A Way of Preventing It

Tanks in League of Legends are an absolute necessity for stable team compositions as well as allowing other team members to follow behind their tank acting as a battery ram, if they can engage team fights and hold their own. Tanks are useful for the fact that they do decent damage whilst being able to tower dive with or without teammates successfully and walk away like nothing ever happened. However, recent information has suggested that tanks are about to become a problem for the balance of League of Legends. A lot of people are predicting a tank meta in which tanks dominate the Rift. Much like the bruiser meta this game had, we could likely have to deal with high health champions able to do decent damage while under tower. This is essentially a weaker version, but nevertheless, a return of the bruiser meta which many have dreaded and despised in the past.

With this information and the current state of the game, it's hard to say whether or not this could happen, but their are signs that make it clear something is on the horizon and one wrong move by Riot's League balance team, and the whole thing could turn into pure chaos. For the future of tanks, nerfing characters seems like a go-to solution, but I think what should happen is finally buffing towers. More health equals a higher likelihood of tower diving and overall lane domination over who can handle the most damage, deal it at the same time, and still press onward. Too alleviate this, what I suggest is giving the towers an extra damage calculation for items that give health to champions. In other words, allow these turrets to deal an extra amount of damage to champions who have health items.

Example: Say if someone built Spirit Visage, the towers should instantly be able to recognize the amount of health the item provides and deal a certain percentage of damage to that extra health it provides on top of the damage that it already deals to the champion's normal health-pool (health without items). This way a tank meta could be prevented in a way that doesn't wreck champions and make them almost unplayable keeping the meta whilst allowing many other champion-types to enter the meta as well. This doesn't prevent tower diving, but it at least could in theory prevent this meta from ever rising.

Tank meta will never happen, no one likes playing tanks. I can't for the life of me ever get a tank player on my team. It's always some assassin jungler, enchanter support, and a bruiser top with no cc.

I would like to add a disclaimer by saying that for the most part, this is a idea/concept, so please no hate. Be mindful on your replies. I don't like the idea of a tank meta appearing because there's not enough armor penetration items in the game and I think adding more could be problematic for making other items essentially useless.

If anything, I'm just simply tossing an idea I had onto the table and sharing it with others...

If they made a way to let tanks do CC, not die in less than 8 seconds, or do little to minor damage, KOR and CN wouldn't like it They have their Tencent shareholders to consider
