Malzahar deals absolutly no damage because his R is "broken"

Ok, his R is a suppress, does it mean his entire kit has to deal absolutly no damage ? Like seriously my voidlings get one shot by a damn item 3068 before they can even reach the enemy, and my E barely deals no damage if the enemy bought 3 MR, I need 45 items to deal slightly a bit of damage. I was literally dealing 0 damage to a Galio with item 3211 and Second wind, literally 0 with a E on him

Tbh playing Malzahar feels more like playing a PVE character, you can push efficiently, outside of this you can't do nothing aside of flash R someone, and if they get a QSS you're completely useless.

Can you just revert him ? Like everything, his entire kit with the W being an AoE % hp / second, and not this bs voidlings spawn that are totally useless ?

galio has a shield that blocks magic damage and he got spectral cowl which gives sustain, mr , hp which boost his passive shield . you arent gonna do a lot early vs him

Yes sure, but the regen on cowl literally out-damaged my E, I couldn't even go over his shield

what rank was your E when galio had cowl? how much ap/items did you have?

COOLDOWN: 15 / 13 / 11 / 9 / 7 80 / 115 / 150 / 185 / 220 (+ 80% AP)

so the passive shield on galio has a 12 sec cd , malz E with no CDR dont beat that til 3 points in skill the passive shield protects him for 8 / 11 / 14 / 17 / 20% of his maximum health then if he has item 3211 thats +250 HP +25mr which increases his passive shield strength by increasing his HP and then the MR

so you need to have more cdr to beat the cd or his shield + cowls passive plus %hp damage + magic pen

galio is meant to be an anti mage so depending on his runes + lvl + and base stats of MR 32-53 (1-18 lvl ) lets say he is lvl 6 1004 base hp + 37 base mr + 250 hp + 25 mr = 1254 hp and 62 mr and lets say his shield passive is at 11% so 138 shield so some how you need to have enough damage + magic pen to get through the 138 shield then 62 mr to really harm him but at that point of taking damage he regens HP from cowl passive negating some of the damage you dealt

so lvl 6 mal would have 3 points in E so 150 base damage + 80% ap ratio lets say you have 75 ap so thats 150+60 for 210 total damage 210- 138 = 72 damage not blocked then you have to get through the MR of 62 based on him just having cowl and no other MR items. not including any damage reduction from runes so yea you are doing zero damage just from E for the most part.

It's less the Suppression itself and more the huge damage that comes with it and the suppression together.

I wouldn't mind nerfing the ult itself, but a champion relying on a single skill (and feared whenever it's up, avoiding him like the plague) isn't a healthy design. I'm not saying Malz is weak, in fact he's really strong, I'm just saying he's just boring to play because most of his kit relies on his R

or maybe also cuz his kit is so uninteractive

He scales fine, can't have power at every stage. It's valid though to feel like he's more PvE oriented, the kit isn't very interactive.

Bringing back Deathfire Touch as a keystone in Sorcery would be a good idea if you ask me.

It'd also give Mages a new keystone to choose from, beyond:

  1. Shittier homing Arcane Comet that also shields a bit.

  2. Stronger Aery that deals AOE.

  3. Useless.

Phase Shift has a mildly good synergy one exactly 1 out of the 100+ champions in league of legend.

In case you were wondering TahmKench devour + phase shift let's you ignore the slow from munching on enemies. It's a pretty memey strategy though

WHy are you using Malz VS Galio as an example? Galio was made to handle mages! So of course Malzahar is not going to do well against him as a match goes on.

Malzahar also is not made for fighting tanks, Galio or not. Brand is an anti-tank made. Malzahar is meant to handle high mobility melee assassins. Wittle them down with E and W, if you hit a Q they can't use an ability, and R is to make them hold still while your E+W wear them down. And if they have a QSS, then like with many other things, Bait It Out.
