Idea to make the tutorial more... instructive =)

So, I was thinking, a good way to help new players learn the game from the tutorial would be to add a csing tool to the tutorial. Have a n00b L0rD walk into lane as Ashe with a Doran's Blade and have a gold indicator pop up over the head of minions once they're low enough to be last hit. This could help new players adapt to the hardest part of playing a solo lane or adc for new players: farming. Just an idea =)

The should be a more in depth tutorial in general. I let my friend play a match against bots with whatever the lowest setting was and it kept giving him quests or tips that he could simple ignore. He made it through the entire match without really learning anything. Then he was like "It's okay, but I didn't know what I was doing". Perhaps a mandatory match of just walk here, buy this, do that, where you are locked in place until it is completed.

This is an awful way to learn. Forcing people to do something is just brutal and no one wants to do it.

Your perspective is right though. Someone who has never played league should finish the tutorials with the "I get it and know about what I should be doing" feeling.

I don't see how something that would lock them in place would work in a League match, the match would go on without you and eventually you'd just lose or something. It is pretty hard to make a tutorial in a league game, I have no doubt, but at least the minions should give you some help, and even players that don't need the tutorial but just want to practice csing could go back to it just to practice.

Yeah, csing tool. Explain objective timers and what they do... point them in the direction of websites that explain the items they should be using... and not that crap that's "suggested" to us.... Things that might actually help people play the game.

Would really be nice if they put in this and a dozen other things into tutorials and learning experiences. Things like positioning in bot lane, how and where to ward and why, so who's this doran guy anyway (starting items in case you didn't get it), better know a jungler and when they can gank, freezing a lane when behind or.. GASP when ahead! These would all be great additions that people just randomly have to "figure out" and the "good players" abuse the hell out of these things when players don't know them.

I mean there needs to be some sort of learning curve to make the game more rewarding for becoming a more experienced player, but at least helping the poor kids last hit would be a good start.
