So well what sort of support is ideal with Jhin?

Hullo guys, I just happen to get to play a lot of games playing Jhin and with him as support. His lack of constant damage and mobility, and his interaction with his snare snipe make him seem best in botlane.

The problem is, how and what would be ideal for supporting him. I had a few games with "main" supports like Janna and soraka and it didint work well for me. But on the other hand, mage sups seemed great with him since they have hard cc and aoe to tag snares. Also not to mention their bursts make it easy for him to execute enemies with his 4th attacks.

And one of the most largest problems I had is his lack of pushing power with auto attacks alone. Do you think its a legit strat to your support auto attack minions so their health is trimmed equally so you can get a nice dancing grenade off?

what do you think guys.

Anything that can boost AD and AS so basicly any support that can heal or shield and builds item 3504 but with AP focused Sona you should be able to reach 1k AD without full build. Windspeaker's Blessing works also nicely. Funny enough, support with with green support item item 3097 and item 3504 gets to give free steroids when laning.

Sona's not a playable character and Censer is not a usable item...

You are free to think whatever you want but Censers 30 magical damage and +3,75% AD, and in case of Janna ~100 AD, is significant boost for his damage output from a single, cheap item. If you have stronger boosts to him, I am all ears but don't come waving it without some tight math behind it.

Sona's fine. She's not Janna/Blitzcrank/Leona strong but she's fine.

Go ahead and try telling that to Aphromoo, or Madlife, or Sheep. Cause in her current state, she has the lowest professional pickrate of any character played support. Taric, Kayle and Syndra are all being played more often as support champs than Sona.

I would say everything that works well with Jinx (which is pretty much every Support?)

It's sorta complicated. He doesn't seem to do well with passive supports that wont lure enemies into his traps. It seems zoning and moving the enemies is the key in supporting Jhin

I think you meant Jhin, not Jinx :P

I meant Jinx. They feel a bit similar to play with/against imo

DapperGunman1 votes

No, he feels more like Graves. nothing like jinx.

I said "Feels a bit similar to play with/against" I never said the champ itself feels like Jinx when played yourself...

Jinx prefers tanky front-line supports. Particularly with a lot of CC. She has no mobility and she's somewhat squishy by ADC standards, she needs someone that can lock down the opponent while taking a hit.

High damage ones with skillshots. Land Jhin's W snare on someone with a Brand, Zyra, or Vel'koz support and they're gonna fucking die.

I actually did support a Jhin with Vel. It was quite fun and we made quite a lot of fancy kills. "Get scoped m8."

Blitzcrank.

Pull them on a trap, Jhin W's after Blitz uses all of his CC, etc. Should be hilarious.

Have you tried Shen?

Tahm kench can make up for the fact that he has no mobility. Tahm also has decent poke with q and w. If tahm can land a q they can stick to someone pretty easily

Athenes Lulu1 votes

Anyone, really. Though IMO super poky champs (so Jhin can do a cheesy follow-up) or frontliners work pretty well with him.

Janna is just a support of her own.

Zilean makes a good support to jhin if you can land your bombs

He covers for jhin weakness of lacking mobility and has aoe damage to help jhin push waves

The double bombs are also made easier by jhin traps

The only downside is a lack of tankiness but zil ult can supliment that

Strange you have problems, because statistically Janna and Soraka are the two best supports for Jhin.

Their CC makes it really easy for Jhin to hit his skillshots.

Jannas AD shield and both with Ardent Censer also give Jhin a nice amount of damage.

I'd say the top two are Janna and Leona. Janna can peel for him to deal with his limited mobility, while leona/jhin can chain cc+do a silly amount of damage in one full combo if jhin can proc her passive multiple times.

Supports helping set up cs can be a thing for most laners really, but I don't really encourage it unless you really have synergy with your lane partner. With a few points in Q and/or a shiv, jhin can clear wave quickly enough without help I think, and many 'helpful' supports end up just causing cs to be missed since the adc was planning a nade otherwise.
