Just got to play versus a Senna who knew what she was doing. Not impressed.

I just made a PBE account last night, and here's what I found when I actually got to lane vs Senna:

I wasn't impressed.

 1. I had my Spellthief completed by 8:85, even vs a dual adc lane, because Nami's range just has that poke thing down, and triple proccing was easy.
 2. I had my Ice Shard by 17 minutes.
 3. Our Jax left the game at level 4.
 4. We still forced a surrender.
 5. I outdamaged the entire other team, and was almost on Par with mine (for people who claim Nami doesn't do damage, and has a tradeoff for her heals)

Now: here's what I want to point out: Senna wasn't bad. She was religiously Qing, and hit probably 70% of her W's. BUT, as I've said in previous threads: Her early game is her MAJOR weakness. I just punished her as she poked. When she W'd and thought she was going to go in and kill me or Jhin, I R'd her and Q'd her, and we doubled. That simple.

To frame this so people understand she wasn't bad: She had 48 stacks in 21 minutes. That's really not bad for live servers versus other players. In Bot play, you might have about the same by that point of game. So she was on point.

But she just couldn't outheal an Igniting Nami, couldn't outdamage, and literally never got off the ground in items. (was trying to build Lethality/Muramana, but failed to get there due to pressure)

Honestly..... Nami is countered by Lucian. I know how to play the lane vs Lucian, but I honestly expected the matchup to be harder. The only times I died was when I got overconfident and tried to 1v2 them, because Lucian was at 20% or less HP (they had a pink ward hiding in the back of the alcove, so they won the duel. good for them), or when Jhin tried to 1v2 while I was in base.

So please. Take a breath and actually go play some PBE, instead of watching a pro stomp a bunch of Bronzes on the PBE. Play those matchups yourself. You'll find she's actually pretty normal for a champ.

So You are new to the PBE so I can let your thoughts about games slide.

PBE is CRAZY easier then live. Play 20 games vs Senna and then you will have a guess as to how well she will be.

48 stacks is STUPID low. Like what? I can get to 120-150 by late game. She didnt know how to farm the stacks.

48 means she ONLY took ones from minions. She can get a stack from champs she hits twice with a small CD. She should be helping jungle kill scuttle because thats a stack and helps get river control.

Now I have not laned vs a Nami so dont know that match up but I can tell you that that player was not great.

Illabethe2 votes

48 means I hard won the lane so she didn't have freelo opportunities.

 1. I know you're lying because the system itself makes that impossible. You're trying to say you get a soul every 10.5 - 8.4 seconds, ignoring recalls, deaths, and actual play. Game doesn't even spawn souls that quick, much less do you get the opportunity to poke CHAMPS that frequent.

 2. You're a silver player. Not trying to discredit via rank, but you are not an expert on what high elo can do.

 3. She was poking entire lane. But I was counterpoking and using the poke to kill her.

If you want credibility with such insane points, go out, do it, and document it. Show us clips of your amazing stacking.

He was at 41 stacks at 21 minute, which ends most games. (The game I posted was 21 min)

He was only at 86-89 by 31 minutes, which is right on par with what I posted as well.

Took 35 minutes to hit 100.

He drew the game out to 40 minutes just to get stacks.

Furthermore, these were nubs getting picked on by Bunny and his DUO.

Prognosis:

I'm on the mark if we're talking real games. You're on the mark if you think every game is 1 smurf vs 5 bad players for 40 minutes.

P.S. Bunny totally trolled with the Triforce, since she has no base AD growth. Would have been better off with a Stormrazor or Black Cleaver.

"Knows what she was doing"

Yeah, I don't believe so at all lol according to those stats, she didn't know what she was doing.

She was right on part with what BunnyFuFuu could do in the same period of time. You just refuse to believe I'm good at Nami.

I played Senna once and dominated the game with the most gold income with sub-thirty farm, no deaths and only a few kills.

I don't think that Senna's good.

Yeah it's cool because it's completely overloaded as an ability, it's a global lux ultimate that shields allies lol

Senna's going to be completely busted 100% pick and ban in competitive and 100% ban in soloqueue Defending the champion in it's current state because you've seen some bronzies pilot her is beyond embarrassing lol

That is the thing... Literally no one at high level would ever argue this champion is balanced.

Allow me to attempt. THE ONLY thing about her I think is too much is how INSANELY easily and reliably she can stack her passive.

Q - Needs SOMETHING to target. Cannot be cast freely. So either needs a WARD, Tower, or champion to target. Is more narrow and precise than it seems, can easily NOT have an Ally and Enemy in the beam at the same time. Has a very long CD that is reduced by autos sure but it also has abysmal ratios and a rather weak base damage. It also has the limitation of only being able to target things in Senna's Auto Range, the effect can go to 1300 but she cant target anything outside of her range.

W - A Slow moving Projectile that is easily dodged or minion blocked and it only does damage to the the target hit. An AoE Root with single target damage that is also DELAYED. The target can react fast enough to prevent it from rooting anyone else besides them if they are smart enough.

E - One of the most powerful abilities in the kit. Stealth mechanics are not new and since she is the center of it you can aim there with AoE and non-targeted attacks. There is a lot to learn and adapt to with this ability but overall its a protection tool that can easily fail. Especially since most people talk about how it makes her faster but that is after a 1 second delay and an animation that is noticeable. So jump and attack as she is activating it and it wont do much.

R - Horrible base damage early, VERY poor AP ratio. 100% FULL AD ratio is good but limited until her stacks are high and also doesn't apply to the shield part. Also ONLY affects Champions so no Drag or Baron steals.

Her Passive and E are the only really NEW-ish aspects of her.

Her passive granting 1 AD per stack is insane with how reliable and quickly a decent player can stack on her.

Her Range and Crit increase are good but limited since it is in increments of 20 stacks.

A good Senna should be focusing on those stacks and getting about 30-50 stacks every 5-8 mins. In a Twenty minute game, as most games are lasting 20-25 mins these days, that is worst case 120-200 stacks. For a range increase of 150-250 from the base of 600 and a passive only crit chance of 90%-100% with the extra being converted into lifesteal.

That is not even mentioning the 120-200 AD bonus, which is the part I think is broken.

The crit would be broken if her crit damage was not SEVERELY gutted. Her Range is nothing we don't ALREADY have in the game in various ways. Kog, Trist, Twitch. The only thing about it that is different is it is PERMANENT. Which would be a problem if not for her HORRIBLE attack Speed. It is REALLY bad even if you go full Attack Speed.

Almost EVERY the end is NEIGH prediction about how insane she was going to be was considered and she got an aspect of her kit GUTTED to make up for the things she was getting:

Slow Attack animation Severely reduced Crit Damage Lower Movespeed

Now will there be nerfs for her? Probably. Her stacking is way too reliable at the moment as I have said. But her kit is not that bad. Most of her ratios are REALLY low.

Her W has the highest base damage and ratio between her Q and it and is cheaper at all levels as well as being on a shorter Cooldown, 11 vs 15.

The problem a lot of people are saying is her Ult is Global. Woo. It is EASILY dodgeable and ANNOUNCES itself. Unlike Jinx, Ashe, Ezreal ults which just SHOW UP and do SHIT TONS of damage, or in Ashe's Case a REALLY long stun that either stops your push or gets you killed. The part people don't like is that unlike Ashe and Jinx, it can't be blocked by an ally. The damage part of it acts more like an Ezreal Ult to me but with WAY less damage. It has the same width.

The speed is MUCH faster but it also TELEGRAPHS where it is aimed like a Jinx W. So its like if you took a Jinx W and an Ezreal Ult mashed them together and made them have less damage. (5 rank Jinx W is 210, one rank Senna R is 250, 160% Bonus AD on Jinx W, 100% AD and 40% AP on Senna R. Jinx can fire that thing every 4 seconds)

Overall its not that different from ANYTHING ELSE IN THE GAME. The biggest things are the R Global Shield and the E AoE stealth Mechanic for team. The only aspect that I think would need nerfed at the moment is how reliably and quickly she can stack with almost no risk for doing so.

Go watch actual pros and top meta players only say its bad for the global part.

Illabethe1 votes

Stop watching a contained video and actually go play it. It's not as strong as the tutorial makes it out to be. It's basically a 1 use last hitter or a team shielder. rarely both.

Umbral Knight1 votes

Its not a Lux ult. For one it ONLY interacts with Champs. So no Drag or Baron stealing. Two its damage and Ratios are WAY LOW, its base damage doesn't match Lux's until the third rank of it and it only gets 40% AP, it does get 100% AD but until her stacks are insane that is nothing.

On top of that Lux's Ult has no Travel time. JUST a charge time. 1 second then damage at ALL POINTS of it. Senna's Ult can be WALKED out of AFTER it goes off if you are even half the map away.

Its a clutch global fight turnaround. Not a laser of death. It is designed to help a losing fight top lane by MAYBE damaging the enemy and shielding the ally to net a kill instead of give a death. The vision is a bonus as it can give A LOT of info while also helping a lane fight.

Which champion has this many abilities again?

Illabethe2 votes

She only has 4 abilities with 5 total functions.

Her Auto attacks are nearly perma gated to less than 500, even on 100% crit.

The only scary thing about her is in a bubble, her auto attacks can get up to 700-725 range,so those 400-500 crits start to stack up, like a Caitlyn with Sivir's on attack movement speed buff. But that takes a snowballing winning game, which she doesn't have early game.

Her passive is massive. Just by itself it covers multiple lines with multiple sentences in those lines.

And again, you are playing against low ELO players with a brand new champion that they have played a couple of times. Ask a low ELO player to play Azir for the first time or the old Ryze and they will do nothing on them too.

Illabethe1 votes

Her passive is a wall of text that boils down to:

 1. She cannot gain AD growth. It has to come from items or being aggressive.

 2. Her Critical Strikes only do 130% Damage (146.25% with IE) Damage (Huge rebuff on critting)

 3. Her Double tapping a champion will do a chunk of current HP damage.

 4. Crit Chance Surpassing 100% Will be converted into Life Steal at a 35% Rate!

 5. is a heavy nerf.

 6. is a heavy nerf.

 7. is a damage buff which compensates part of the nerfs.

 8. is a buff that still puts her damage in the realm of a nerf.

P.S. PBE is a mixed bag, not low elo. Last night had a Pyke and Ekko literally 2v5 a game while their Senna went 1/8, and the Ekko was averaging a kill every 18 seconds after he got going. His only death the entire game was to me.

Lulu has six, technically seven (W and E affect friendly and enemy champions differently, and her E lends her ally her passive, and it reveals enemy champions even in stealth). And supposedly she's getting buffed in the preseason.

All of Nami's skills boost ally movement speed, her W is both an attack spell AND a heal, she has a crowd stun on a Q.

Who knew supports were a thing? I know this all-assassin meta inspired the community to drink lead-based paint until their brains became soft mush so they could focus exclusively on the one thing they aren't even halfway decent at, but come the fuck on.

Nami's heal bounces up to 3 targets. Senna heals multiple allies and harms multiple enemies and hits minions, with much further range that scales with her range.

Senna boosts her whole team and gives them an unclickable mechanic plus obscures who they are while enhancing their movement as well. Her ultimate is a global ulti that is wider than the other global ADC ultis that has a massive area for a shield.

Her passive is just a better version of Kindred's scaling with no known cap yet.

Her root is just an improved Jhin root.

So yeah... she is more overloaded than any of those champions.

Supports also have tons of drawbacks in most cases. Lux is a case of Riot wanting to sell skins and she has been overtuned for ages. Senna is still worse.

You keep oversimplifying things man... I'm not going to go over everything you said but here's a couple.

 1. Jhin W and Senna W aren't similar enough to call hers an "improved jhin root". Hers is about half the range of Jhin's, has a way longer travel time (to be fair, compensated with less of a cast delay, but both have ups and downs), only snares after a delay after hitting the enemy, is worse at waveclear. Sure, in some situations it'll function as a better Jhin W, but both are situationally better skills than each other and you're ignoring that. That's true for a lot of skills on other champions, they're similar but situationally one will be better than the other.

 2. Passive gives bonus stats but doesn't give empowerments to her basic abilities like Kindred does. It works more like an AD thresh passive if you had to compare it to anything, as the "infinite scaling" will usually not matter too much, rather it'll just be a good scaling stat buff. Not to mention SHE GETS DEBUFFS BY DEFAULT THAT STALL THE "INFINITE" SCALING. No AD per level, literally 50 base AD, far weaker crit damage. The range may be an issue but it's great if ahead, if she can't get stacks it's wasted and she'll not even have that much range than Cait. Considering the power level of assassins too, it's not like she'll be that difficult to get onto and burst (if you can either dodge her self-peel, or burst her before it saves her which plenty of assassins should be able to). Most important part of her passive, she will NEVER scale well with attack speed with 10% AS stat rune, Level 18, one berserker greaves (35%) and 5 wit's end's (50% per) I hit 1.35 AS and that's not even including her attack delay which is still noticeable even if not that incredibly long. That's with far more attack speed you would ever build on her anyway.

 3. God, I do think the E is a bit overtuned but the way people word their complaints are the dumbest damn thing ever. The movespeed buff isn't that large, just decent. The cast delay is long and you can see it happening, they can still be seen AND CLICKED ON if an enemy is very close to them, and enemies can see the cloud very easily even if they can't see the champions in it. It's probably a bit too strong but it's not "hurr durr akali shroud but pyke because super speed for everyone"

I played 5 or so games of her. She feels "strong but not that OP" but we'll have to see how pros can manage her versus other pros which isn't something we know right now. That being said, we have to wait, because right now she seems maybe slightly too strong but not as toxic as people make her out to be. Of course I could be wrong but for god's sake, can we have patience? She doesn't even go in my role and I'm okay with waiting to whine about her.

Umbral Knight1 votes

Senna's Q range does not scale. The ability effect is a static 1300. She cant TARGET outside of her Auto Range. Meaning she needs an ally, enemy, tower, or ward to target to try and aim the thing. And hitting MULTIPLE allies and enemies is INSANELY difficult. Its hard enough to hit the right ally at times. And yeah it hits minions, Oh no a marksman that can wave clear! It also SUCKS at it since it has abysmal base damage and ratios.

Her E is indeed strong. I can't even say much about it. But it is so INTERESTING and it makes them no targetable by Autos, not AoE abilities and such. Also Jinx Rockets could still hit them if they are in minion waves.

Her Ult IS NOT wider than Ezreal's for the damage portion. It is AS WIDE as Ezreal's Ult, which ALSO goes through enemies. But unlike Ezreal's it ANNOUNCES it is coming before doing so. Like a max rank Global JInx W, which arguably has better scaling than Senna's UIt. The width for the Shield makes sense since the shield is SUPER small and with poor AP Ratios on it. It only gets BEEFY when her stacks do.

Her Passive is the only part of her kit that seems busted to me but not for the Range, just for how reliably she can stack it. There is little risk to her stacking it unlike Kindred's stacks. Which btw Kindred stacks improve their %current and missing health damage in their abilities without limit which is the BIGGEST benefit, the range is just a bonus they added on.

Her root is not a better Jhin root. Its an AoE root like Zyra Vines. But it only has single target damage and a massive DELAY that the target hit AND the people around them can try and prevent from affecting. (If you hit a champ that is with how slow the projectile moves, like a Morg Root)

She has TONS of drawbacks.

Severely reduced Crit Damage

SLOW AS FUCK auto animations

330 MS, with 325 being the only one lower that isn't tied to specific champs. (Janna and unmounted Kled are the only ones slower)

Her Q animation is long, makes her stationary, and I have as Caitlyn placed a trap at her feet as she launches it. Returning WAY more damaged than she healed or dished out.

Seriously everyone is screaming foul but honestly this is one of the first times where the design DOESN'T scream OP MUST BAN. I remember Kalista, Yasuo, and Azir came out. Azir used to have two passives. The tower thing and gaining Attack Speed equal to the amount of CDR he had. Nashor's Tooth gave him a one item boost that was INSANE. Yasuo is still an overtuned mess and Kalista has been nerfed into the ground so hard she is the LOWEST winrate ADC in the game!

Stop letting these sensational Youtube Click baiters tell you whether a champ is OP or not. Knowing her ratios and base damages is what is important.

The way i would build Senna would be on-hit and damage items.

Probably like Trinity Force , cleaver etc.

Why would you want to build crit even when you can rely on on-hit effects.

Illabethe1 votes
 1. Senna doesn' t have base AD growth. In other words, Sheen is useless on her.

 2. She doesn't get off multiple hits, has pauses, so Black Cleaver is a weak item on her.

 3. Crit overcaps and gives her Life steal.

 4. Crit also entails having a Rapid Fire Cannon, which is an easy way to 825 Range. Makes up for her weak initial damage by preventing runners.

 5. She has 3 separate move speed boosts, which are amplified by move speed items.

nm10101 votes

48 stacks in 21 minutes? You get an average of 3-4 per minute from minion drops alone (excluding cannons) as support. That would mean she is incredibly behind on just passive stacks, let alone any harass she did.

I would love to see her runes and items.

Illabethe1 votes

You only get 3-4 a minute if you're there for every spawn, are poking champs, not losing lane.

I just had a WINNING Senna on my team, who only had 43 stacks by the end of the game where she had a 12/5/16 with 24k damage.

What's possible and what's actually done dont line up. Otherwise, Thresh would always have 120+ souls, Sion would always be 5k + HP, and Nasus would be 900 Stacks at 30 minutes.

nm10101 votes

3-4 per minute from normal minion waves as support (she gets more drops when NOT killing minions herself) so if yours was adc it would likely be less. Again, I would love items and runes to see if these people have any idea how to even play.

Illabethe1 votes

Below, someone posted a BunnyFuFuu thread to try to argue that the stacks I'm mentioning is moot and bad play.

Turns out..... I was right on mark.

This game I posted here was 21:18 minutes. At 21:18, BunnyFuFuu had 42 Stacks. That's exactly on par with this one.

And Bunny was vs Nubs. Not pros.

nm10102 votes

Bunny was farming that game and the more you dodge posting their builds and runes, the more I'm going to assume that they were trolling. Just double checked my test from earlier, afk'ing near minions alone got me 72 at 2130, 42-43 at 21 is trash tier.

Edit: Sneaky is at 50 @ 14 minutes right now and he IS adc/farming.

Illabethe1 votes

Farming makes no difference to spawn rates. I don't know where people got the idea more spawn from NOT farming. Large minions have a 100% chance to spawn no matter who kills them. Champions often spawn 2-3 per death, because of how her passive works.

If Sneaky had 50, he killed someone 4-5 times.

nm10101 votes

Hover over passive and press shift...

Small minions and lesser monsters have a chance to spawn Mist Wraiths, reduced chance on those that Senna kills

Etherwolf1 votes

Okay, so I made sure to play a Senna game to make sure I'm not just overthinking things.

There is no possible way that whoever you were up against knew what they were doing.

Sure, the enemy team weren't amazing, but I wasn't even trying to stack efficiently and I still hit 83 at the 21 mark. That's +83 AD (218), +100 attack range (700), +60% crit strike (60). That is goddamn insane when my only AD items were the gold income item and a Black Cleaver--my only other items being boots and an Ardent Censor.

What exactly aren't you impressed about at this point? Because the way I see it, if someone were to actually tryhard play her in just the support role, she'd be unstoppable by the mid-game.

Edit: Fun Facts about the enemy Senna:

 • She had 84 stacks being mid
 • 385 AD, 100% crit strike
 • 17 kills, 1 assist (Meaning she hit a lot of champions, comparing kill participation

Despite the differences in our roles, items and such, we STILL almost tied in stacks. I'm not saying I'm a great player, but I wasn't doing my best with Senna and could keep up with a hyperfed mid lane Senna. Senna is immensely impressive.

Illabethe1 votes

In other words, you won lane hard, got plenty of opportunities to mooch 2-3 Wisps of a champion in the process of their death, and stomped them. THAT'S HOW SHE GETS BIG.

Your opponent had no clue how to play, and you literally gained every time they died.

That is how you surpass average. No one shut her down. At all.

Etherwolf1 votes

Did...did you not pay attention to my comment?

The mid laner, who had 17 kills and 1 assist, only had one more stack than I, the support, with just 3 kills and 11 assists (only about 7 of which even being from bot lane). Without stacking properly. Average gameplay kept up with above average gameplay in terms of her passive. There's just so much that you can do without any intense gameplay. Imagine if I had actually reached a point to have a high amount of gold income like the mid Senna.
