Is Aurelion Sol A Formidable Support?
Q-Stun good for disengage/engages W-Good harass/poke E-Get to lane or some kind of dramatic entrance with a huge stun to dis/engage R-Disengage/engage if done from behind.
Thoughts?

CS steal. That W will take creeps from the ADC. Low ELO, doesn't matter, but he will not pass as a valid support higher ELO. Also, with little gold, he won't have much once stun is used/missed. He'll just be this squishy dragon auto attacking and staring at his Q CD timer as the ADC or him gets beat in the face.
You're gold, so I will trust you.
With a grain of salt, of course. Gold isn't that great, but it is better than most of the community so there's that validation.
He's just worse Vel'koz, Brand, Zyra, Annie, (insert mage that can be taken bot lane here). They all either out damage or out utility him and are more reliable. A Sol takes like 2+ items to be even relavent so sending him bot lane is a huge no-no.
I'm not sure formidable is the right word. He's definitely decent, and with his ability to roam he does have a fair niche down in bot lane.
A lot of people have ideas about him, though, so I wouldn't really try it without a friend or two in the match. Plenty of supports have abilities that take CS while poking (Sona) or in a full fight (list any support with AoE here) so as long as you learn your positioning to minimize CS stealing you should be good to go.
Just remember you can't successfully hide in bushes.
If by "formidable" you mean "he's a cocksucker who steals my fucking CS by existing", then yes.
If I'm ever playing ADC and the support on my team has Sol as their pick intent I immediately ban him. No hesitation.
Well aren't you just a joyous ray of sunshine...
right?
right?
Wow a whole four CS that I'll get back.
It's not just that he last hits the CS with his passive. He makes farming much more difficult by damaging CS with his passive, fucking your own last-hitting up.
Aurelion Sol support isn't strong enough to justify how much more work his adc has to put into farming. I'll just continue to ban it out.
His utility kind of sucks because so much is riding on landing his q, which is quite easy to dodge. Also, as for damage he requires too much gold to be useful since he's so squishy. There are so many support champions that provide utility and are better either offensively, defensively or both on a much lower gold budget.
edit: on a positive note, I wouldn't worry too much about his passive stealing cs. Skilled Aurelion Sol players should be able to avoid this or use their stars to weaken minions (without last-hitting them)to make it easier for his ADC to kill
