Riot Is REALLY Trying to Bring Back Garen Into Higher Level Play

Garen has been buffed recently to EXTREMELY increase his health regeneration. Ever since then I have found Garen is extremely good in a sieging team late game due to Garen being tanky and speedy enough to walk away from nearly anything that doesn't involve true damage. So, now what? Riot has announced that, while Warmog's Armor will offer less health, the health regeneration will be TRIPLED while out of combat. They really want to buff a Garen-type play style and Garen himself. So Garen, with this, will heal 2.6% of his max health per second. Increase that by 20% from Spirit Visage and you get about 3.12% health back per second plus base health regeneration and the extra 4 per second from Spirit Visage. We'll see if any of the other pre-season items will buff Garen a lot in what he fails to do since some the new active effects of some items seem pretty big, such as Zz'rot Portal's mass minion siege active effect.

Actually, Warmog's is a noobtrap on Garen, especially with his buffed passive.

With a Spirit Visage and its boost to HP regen, Garen regenerates from 50% to 100% in less than 20 seconds already. And, considering that those changes will come with a nerf to Warmog's HP given, I'd prefer a Frozen Mallet or Randuin's for Garen over a neglible further increase in HP regeneration.

These changes do put Garen into a better position than he was before, but he is still very easy to kite. This can be worked around, but it is one reason Garen and champions like him will typically be a situational picks.

Well, now that I looked at the two new items, if the new item Radiant Glory can cleanse his kiting problems, I think Garen might be something to truly fear.

Radiant Glory builds out of this: item 3010 .

Tell me again how Garen is continously oom.
