@Riot The game is probably in it's worst state ever

The state of the game right now is simply horrible. The lack of balance in the game is truly embarrassing. Reworking the last five champions and having none of them balanced is pretty sad. Meanwhile there are champions that have been broken for years and still nothing has been done to them.

Also, by forcing Mordekaiser to play bottom and letting him get a ridiculous win rate, you have managed to put the game on tilt. Now it seems more and more people are taking non-traditional ADCs and supports bottom. My last 4 games haven't had a traditional ADC or support. And that's with no one playing Morde! It's literally no fun at all facing these cheese bottoms or having them on your team and they feed miserably.

It's getting to the point where more and more players are tired of it and ready to move on to something else. This is happening with Worlds just around the corner and I'm afraid that it will make for bad games on the world stage. There are so many great suggestions on the boards on how to balance or rework champions, please take the time to listen. Sorry for the negative vibe, but I just don't want to see the game ruined.

There's literally no problem with playing non-traditional things. Innovation is great! Though it does get frustrating when people feed, non-traditional laning is perfectly fine with me.

Riot has been making a lot of improvements, though I would like to know what champions you think are broken.

While I will agree that innovation will happen, there are just some horrible things in the game.

As for broken champs, the first that comes to mind is Yasou. If you put him on a team that has an AoE knockup (Alistar Braum Malphite etc) he is basically God on the rift. There really isn't much your team can do to counter that since his ult is unstoppable and ignores half your armor, so being a tank doesn't really help either. With his passive, pretty much every hit during the ult will crit as well. And that isn't even taking into consideration the rest of his kit. He has TWO of the best passives in the game and his wind wall is better than 75% of the ults in the game.

Fizz. A champion that (if you start Flask and pots) literally has no real weakness.

Rengar. A champion that is toxic to play and play against. If enemy Ren gets ahead, it's a miserable experience. If you are playing Ren and get behind, you are basically worthless the rest of the game.

I could go on (with a wall of text on Ekko alone) but I think you get the idea.

Tahm is actually good for those kinds of situations with Yasuo. A Tahm with Mikael's can pull 2 people out of Yasuo's ult, rendering a lot of the damage undone.

Same thing for any non debuff based DoT ability, you can save people from them by eating them.

Rengar is annoying when ahead, but I wouldn't say he's toxic. I know that I can counterplay and kill him, or at least manage to escape as a good number of champions.

There's a lot of unpopular items and champions that are strong against Fizz, Yas, Ahri, etc, but aren't played because they're unpopular.

Wow, never knew that. Thanks for the info, but it's still BS that you have to pick one champion to try and counter him. Plus TK will probably be one of the guys knocked up to begin with.

When Rengar can kill you in 1 second with no counterplay, that's about as toxic as it gets. The pink ward argument is bogus since you have to have it where he is coming from. Even then, he can bush jump you. Sweepers are worthless as well, his jump is longer range than the sweep range.

There's a lot of unpopular items and champions that are strong against Fizz, Yas, Ahri, etc, but aren't played because they're unpopular.

What items exactly?

It's all about positioning as Tahm. Don't stick directly next to teammates when fighting against that kind of comp in the lategame, but stay close enough to save them if a sticky situation occurs. You can avoid being combo'd by doing that.

Gangplank can also free himself of Yasuo's ult and murder his face. Bard can.. Well, he can cause anything but spellshields to go to waste with a well timed ult.

Concerning Rengar..

Jax, Fiora, Quinn, or Teemo can nullify a large amount if not all of his mega nuke ability queue as long as they react fast enough. Banshee's can block a Q proc, Pantheon's passive also blocks Rengar's Q nuke. The problem isn't Rengar as a champion but the Hydra exploit burst vs Squishy champions. To perform this nuke however, he trades most of his survivability in for damage.

Champions good vs the obnoxious mids and items good for dealing with the obnoxious midlaners in the lategame

Mikael's is one, let's you remove CC from and heal your ally (Can't cast while CC'd, but great on supports) Swain wrecks Ahri and Yas btw.

For some odd reason, people have stopped using Banshee's veil (That's one ability blocked and very possibly one life saved) in midlane. It's extremely useful against those "CC then murder your face champs"

Against all four of them togehter, Mikael's and Banshee's are the only recommendations. In most situations, one of these will save your life.

When against Ahri, Fizz, or those other AP bursters Banshee's is a must. That one ability blocked usually takes away a significant amount of damage.

Against Yasuo, Banshee's will protect you from the CC combo attempts.

This is one of the reasons more lane diversity is needed among lower tiers. I played AP Maokai against a Yasuo and bullied him hard. I could 1v1 him at any point of the game, even when he got a bunch of kills off teammates who didn't listen when I told them not to come to my lane.

Certain "Non-meta" picks (When played right) can actually bully certain members of the "OP" champions in lane.

Malzahar (AKA Space aids) can crap on all four of them when played right. Ryze just blows up Fizz, Ahri, Akali, and Yas too if windwall is down.

Maokai can lane against a Yas safely as AP Tree, as Yasuo's ability spam gives you a lot of healing.

Swain is extremely good against Ahri and goes toe to toe with Fizz, as long as he's played right.

Garen can be played mid to a reasonably successful degree (More so against burst oriented melees like Fizz, Akali, and Yas)

The only problem with Banshee's is that it takes awhile to build and doesn't help with any offensive stats. Otherwise I agree.

Swain is a highly underrated champion. I don't know why he isn't seen more since he does counter a lot of the problem champs. Malz is great until the opponent gets Zhyonas or QSS.

ReshiKillim1 votes

As far as I've experienced, Malz is still great even afterwards. With the right build a single dose of his DoT slapped on can force a QSS or Zhonya's (Seen a Malz do 1.4K with E alone to an ADC)

Im sorry, but no. now if AP Yi and release Xin were here then yes

Lugg1 votes

At least you could ban them. Too many broken champs right now to ban.

You think the games balance is worse than in Season 2?

Ha, good joke.

Lugg1 votes

While you may be right, the fact that it's debatable is what's sad.

Very few, if any of the juggernauts will be picked at Worlds, of that I am almost certain (They simply won't preform well against a coordinated team, most notably Mordekaiser)

That said, Fairly certain Riot stated a few times they went into these reworks KNOWING they were likely going to be imbalanced at first, this is just my personal opinion mind you: but the finished product is whats important to me, not the inbetween; and with most of them up for nerfs (and more nerfs already in discussion if those don't work), I think we'll be fine.

Lugg1 votes

I think they won't be played solely due to nerfs on them the week prior. That really isn't enough time to get them down in a team setting when so much will be on the line.

I do hope that they end up balanced in the near future.

I'm not sure if that is true man, dyrus apparently beat edgs top laner in scrims with darius and if dyrus can do that god knows what marin or huni could do with him, plus faker and sssumday have started playing fiora and gangplank because they are way to strong. Don't agree with op but js

Xelvi2 votes

I agree, but only because there are so many overpowered champs and items running around at the moment. Hate the game right now.

I've never felt more obligated to play certain champs than I do right now if I want to gain rating.

Lugg1 votes

Exactly, I feel like I HAVE to pick meta champs and not the champs I enjoy playing.

Big Lincoln1 votes

Riot why aren't you enforcing the meta ;((

Lugg1 votes

A meta shift isn't always a bad thing, but to do it at the end of the season so close to Worlds???
