I'm sick and tired of all the Lux buffs

Every single one makes her more toxic to play against. First is was making the passive useful late game (you know because doing a potential 5k damage spread out on an entire team isn't good enough on a 30s CD) because you know she wasn't a big enough bully early game. Then they arbitrarily decided using minions to take less damage or shield yourself from her q is bad and didn't think "Oh wait what if she hits 2 champs".

How to fix lux so she is no longer as toxic to lane against.

  1. make it so she only does 100% damage to the second target if it is a minion/monster (if someone ever figures out how to jungle lux or wants to farm camps later on).
  2. give her E some god damn counter play, its not easy to dodge even with my new 50 ping, with 100+ it made sense, but its just so bad right now. She literally has to fuck up to miss or I have to blow an escape/gapcloser I should be saving for when she Qs. Maybe remove the slow until it actually lands and remove the slow when it blows up at the very least. So she isn't triple dipping into an ability for power (slow, damage, and another slow). Or hell even reduce its landing speed just enough that you have room to leave. Or you could drop its radius by about 50-100 to give more juke room.

The main reason I absolutely hate playing against her is mostly her E and then the Q buff. Literally one of the safest laning phases of any mid laner or supports other than maybe Ahri or Katarina, but at least Ahri can't snipe you and snowball from further than you can see and has to be near your face to do damage. She can use her E to face check bushes, do damage, slow for q or AA sometimes both, and then after she hits the free Q due to E she then blows you up with an ult (I will remind you of the 30s CD late game with 25-30% CDR).

I feel like they are just slowly making her kit more and more overloaded and its a matter of time before she becomes FotM again because of all the buffs. She has been balanced for a long time and they just keep buffing her like she's massively under powered. (200% total damage on an ability that capped at 150% before is a major buff, it's a 33% damage increase)

Katarina ?

The melee champion with the lowest base health in the game ? The melee champion with some of the lowest base damages in the game ? The melee champion that needs to go all in to kill stuff ? The melee champion that loses lane to almost everything not named Karthus ?

Surely you miss typed.

Xerath is safe Ziggs is safe Ahri is safe Velkoz is safe Viktor is safe Orianna is safe Syndra is safe

There are tons of safe laning / all game long champions, Katarina is so far from being one of those it is redonkyless.

Everyone that does not play Lux, hates Lux (me included).

Thing is how many of those champs are viable and haven't been dumpstered. Syndra got gutted. Ahri is banned most of the time, Ziggs has had issues ever since the mana changes, Viktor just needs to be fixed (mostly his deceptive E), Velkoz isn't really that safe because one q and you are dead post-6 and very vulnerable to ganks. Ori is about the only person I can deal with Lux with only because she has the built in MR and armor to help deal with Lux's early game.

Thing is it doesn't matter how safe your champion is unless they have a way to reduce her damage, heal, or remove her CC, all it takes is 1-2 Qs to land and you die.

I really just want her to be less toxic. I'm not about gutting Lux, I just want them to stop buffing her for no apparent reason and somehow making her worse and worse to deal with each buff.

The only way it seems you can beat Lux is with pre-6 range (more than her Q and E), mobility, or durability. There is no inbetween. If you dont have 1 the lane is hell. Previously she could hit you behind minions for half damage on her Q and that was enough to make some of the more powerful less mobile champs viable against her as you could duck behind minions as a last resort.

This goes back to why Nidalee is toxic (she was worse before I admit). 1 ability hits you and you are screwed or out of the fight because you can't take another one without putting yourself at major risk.

Cmon man, you're acting like she has the highest midlane winrate in the game. Oh wait...

I wasn't even aware of that, but I don't really care about a 55% win rate. I'm more concerned how they mindlessly buff her and make her more toxic every time I finally start to stop caring about the last buff they gave her.

Meanwhile Rek'Sai over there is being dug up from her grave and mutilated again because pro players played her for her only strength left.

Who are you playing against Lux? I've not once ever had trouble against a Lux as Xerath, so I can't say I find Lux toxic to play against. I've only bullied them out of lane or got really fed off them trying to compete in lane against me.

Lux has the highest non-Mordekaiser win rate in the game right now. She drops an absurd amount of team wide damage on top of multiple varieties of CC (a root and a slow with enormous AOE potential). She does everything.

I literally just watched her trash a Xerath in lane.

I think you are overlooking something pretty important: her E costs 130 mana at max rank. Considering that mana cost she can't spam it and since it is her only real wave clearing ability she has to be pretty careful about positioning it. If you can push the wave pretty effectively you can run her out of mana pretty quick and then you don't have to worry about her poking you (but don't forget to ward to avoid ganks).

Thing is early game most people can't afford to push the lane and as you said it makes you a gank target. And if she gets 1 kill you are screwed. Plus her E also marks everyone with her passive to add at least 100 more damage (early-mid game, around 300 late game) to her ult as long as she just have a seizure or miss throw it, so yeah hidden power OP. I think you are overlooking that late game she is also getting free 300+ damage from her passive on her damage spells if she procs them. That's about half of an ability of damage for free.

I wouldn't call that hidden power, you are glowing while the passive is applied to you.

The main point I was making about that mana cost is that you are very likely to be able to push the wave better and with less cost than Lux. I can't think of anyone off the top of my head who does it worse (except maybe Anivia and Swain). That E is also Lux's only reliable cc and way to hit her Q. If she uses it on the wave and misses you then you can usually avoid the Q and put some damage on her with very little retaliation. If you drive her off for a bit then she doesn't get to proc her passive on the minions and her clear becomes terrible.

Of course, you could have the problem of who you are playing against her. If you are running Swain or some close range mage then she does counter you and your difficulties are understandable. If you are running a long range mage then you will usually have better wave clear for less cost and can just shove your wave under her turret and watch as she struggles to cs.

She gets buffed because you bozos at G&B are an entitled, spoiled bunch who think they have the answer to all the balance problems and cannot stand someone like Lux having perfectly defined weaknesses(DAE muh 130 mana cost!?! )

130 mana cost to drop a large almost undodgable ability on at least 1 person that doesn't even sacrafice damage for being AoE and has a slow as it lands, while it is up, and after detonation. This is ignoring the fact that it alone can add 300 damage to her ult or an AA. This is also ignoring that it sets up her Q for a basically free root then follow up ult and allows her to see where it lands. Her entire kit is reliant on it, but is has so much utility and damage on its own that, I think that you are lucky to only have the 130 mana cost. Do you really want it to cost 100 mana but do about 2/3 its current damage? That's about the only way you can buff her E an not break her, and even then 100 mana for that utility is kind of cheap. The point is, her mana cost comes from the damage combined with all the utility in the ability. It has as much utility as some ults have.

Light Binding 60 / 110 / 160 / 210 / 260 (+ 70% AP)

Lucent Singularity MAGIC DAMAGE: 60 / 105 / 150 / 195 / 240 (+ 60% AP)

as you can see just off damage alone it is barely weaker than her Q.

If they made it so that her E did less damage initially, but more damage if she let's it sit, then I would be fine.

Gives incentive to not just fire it off and immediately detonate it. It would also synergize well with her Q as it would hold them there while it would charge up.

They just want to see Lux in competitive play this badly.

It doesn't slow after it detonates, stop spreading misinformation.

It does, they gave her a slow field that is more effective (higher amount of slow) if she pops it early for about .25s. Which mean yes it does.

That's just completely non factual. Whatever, I'm done.

I agree... buffing Lux was an absolutely STUPID move to implement. Was absolutely and completely NOT needed at ALL for ANY reason !
