to be fair, a lot of those bruisers got direct buffs in the most recent patch.

darius, renekton, olaf and jax got a number of pretty hefty buffs.

bruiser mains mostly complained before those buffs. i dont see a lot of those complaints right now.

personally i thought tanks were never directly an issue. the source of the problems with the meta was on bot lane, and how fast and how hard bot lane snowballs out of control, and that as a top lane bruiser you have to snowball even faster to have some chance to have a game impact. tanks just made this more difficult than it already was.

tanks also dont compete with marksmen as carries like bruisers do and arent reliant on winning and snowballing their lane to have a game impact. they effectively just play like supports. so the top lane tank meta wasnt a result of tanks being op, but being more reliable team picks.

Oh, but don't you know? Those aren't realy bruisers, because they "abuse" things like Comet and Klepto. Disregard the entire fact that no one can "abuse" keystones, as they aren't designed for a specific class, but rather anyone can take any of them, provided they have the ability to use it.

Oh, and before I get downvoted to oblivion: yes, I understand that some bruisers are certainly not doing well, and some tanks are succeeding when they should be losing to bruisers. But those are case-by-case instances, not the classes as a whole.

I'd argue "abuse" is a valid term if a small set of champions were making great use of something ended up getting it nerfed (IE Kletpo) to the point that hardly no other champions can viably take it now...grumble...

Except that’s not what people mean. They mean it as in “this champion isn’t taking the kind of keystone I want them to, therefore it’s abuse”. Camille isn’t making any more use out of Comet than anyone else is, but her using it is considered “abuse” because she should be taking it. According to them.

next time you will learn that win rate in a lot of cases do not matter olaf can have 51% win rate he's still garbage

ornn can have 46% win rate he's still a shit load strong if he's not go teach LCS players to stop picking him

and i love how cho happens to have 48% win rate, and still have top1 pick rate and win rate in LCS

Lets just ignore on how those "terrible tanks" all see play in competitive and the fact tanks are dominating 3/4 out of 5 positions in the map.

The only reason the same doesnt happen in solo q is because tanks are boring as shit, ppl would rather play zed yasuo or riven even if they are trash tier compared to how broken and easy tanks are atm, of course the higher you go you see more tank metaslaves though who are sacrificing any kind of enjoyment on the game for LP.

Bruisers not named camille are trash tier compared to tanks.

But tanks take 2 more Auto Bursts from ADCs, so they are clearly broken. Everything not dying in 1 second when ADCs do their hyper skilled right click is broken!

Look, tanks are strong. But some bruisers are able to get 80% defense and still 1v1 someone as if they went a normal build. Fiora, is one of these examples that should be eradicated by nerfs, blah blah blah. Maybe a GU, not sure.

If I had to guess, it's champions with high/decent playrates. You can't just look at winrate alone to determine a champions standing, you have to look at the playrate. For example: a few patches ago, Quinn had like the highest or second highest winrate in top. However, she also had the second lower playrate in the lane, less than .5% or something. Champions with small playrates are always going to have statistically higher winrates, as they only people playing them are mains who know the champion and matchups in and out.

Meaning that, for their playrate, these are the highest/lowest winrates. A high playrate + High Winrate means that everyone playing them is getting ezpz wins, while a low playrate combined with a low winrate means that even one-trick mains aren't able make the champion perform well.

Typically you would expect lower playrates to amount to higher winrates, so this is taking into account that fact and making sure the winningest stats reflect at least a decent playrate.

I wouldn't really classify Illaoi, Darius, Kled, and Olaf as bruisers

they're bruiser tank hybrids

singed is a tank

Teemo, Vlad, Swain, and Kayle are all strong because they're able to fight tanks, bruisers, and other fighters pretty easily in early game, minus teemo the same champions are able to dominate mid or late game through sustain, invulnerability, and dps

Galio isn't a tank, I haven't seen a tank galio in months

Poppy is only weak because of mastery choices

Warwick shyvana, trundle, udyr are all often built full tank

I see 100x more hybrid ap gragas players than tank gragas, I'd venture to call it ap bruiser gragas
