One Karthus buff that will nudge him into relevance

During Death Defied, Karthus can cast his other spells while channeling Requiem.

This change would make Karthus strong, but not overpowered. However, Karthus can be permitted to be strong because he is not an oppressive champion. He has lots of counterplay. His Q is a skillshot, his ult can be shielded, ignored, stasis'd, survived, healed, and the most oppressive part of his kit - Wall of Pain - was recently nerfed.

Karthus's Death Defied Zone needs to be respected more. As it stands, unless Karthus is fed, many champions can ignore his passive zone and keep fighting through it or walk/dash right past it.

Many of the newer champions that Riot has been releasing have a mechanic to keep them relevant, even when behind. Some examples would be: TahmKench's Devour Kalista's Fate's Call Kindred's abundance of %hp damage Ekko's Parallel Convergance and Chronobreak Gnar's GNAR!

This change is all Karthus needs to get a bit of relevance when behind. It would makes enemies respect and have to play around his passive more by increasing the potential damage output during Death Defied. It also means Karthus does not have to make the choice to sacrifice half of his valuable passive time just to ult. As a champion who's role is exclusively to deal massive damage, he feels a little lackluster unless fed.

how about just revert the joke nerf and maybe even buff his wall to be stronger than before.

Tbh that really wouldn't do all that much for him. I think it's better the way it is where you have to choose what's better, requiem or those other abilities.

A better way to make him better would be to bring back revive.

Why is it better to choose? Limiting a champion's options when they could have more to play around with doesn't do anything but remove potential strategy from them.

Revive isn't coming back... that strategy didn't fit his theme anyways. Karth is all about introducing to his opponent the power of death once he dies, showing them the mistake they've made in killing him, unleashing his fury. And I don't feel very furious when I have to pause for three seconds. I'd rather be forcing my enemy to dance around my Lay Waste, trying to stay alive while my ultimate looms over their heads.

In my experience, ff your opponents have half a brain, they'll just run away from you once you die; spam your Q while they do that, then ult.

I disagree, I make sure to die in a choke, forcing the fight to take place on my defile. You'd also be surprised how many people ignore it, and this buff would allow Karth to punish them harder for that. It would reward how well he positioned himself to die.
