Maybe the enemy weren't all full ad and they have an ap damage support that you discounted for?

99% of the time it's one of these cases:

  • they are behind in levels and kills, so they think armor will save them from a 5/0 ADC with a 3 level lead
  • They had a lead early and couldn't finish the game, so now it's 40 minutes in and everybody has a 6 item build, thinking 250 armor is going to save you from a lategame scaling ADC with armorpen

Why do people act like armor pen is such a big deal against tanks? You mostly get armor pen against squishies lol.

Well.. it "builds" upon itself.. hehehehehe. Sorry. Pun moment.

But between black cleaver and last whisper that's alot of % armor pen stacking. And if your playing someone like vayne or twitch... even more..

Probably won't see that in high elo but here its kinda common.

Well no adc builds black cleaver other than Lucian and Last Whisper isnt worth until you have 4-5 items either. The infamous item 3147 item 3142 build has 30 armor pen. 600 gold for item 1029 item 1029 or 200 more for item 1031 and thats gone..

Ehh I guess. Idk..

I just play tristana and still rip through tanks with mstly critical and a dash of lifesteal.... unless they have thornmail... then I pray I have enough lifesteal.
