Am I the only one who believes that Lee and Syndra don't need buffs?

Title. These characters have historically been rather strong, and in Lees case I cannot remember a single time throughout his existence where he hasn't been dominant or popular. Remember season 4 Syndra where she was stunning 3-4 people, and one-shotting carries? Because I do. I also remember that her fall in popularity coincided with the mana-regeneration changes. Of all things, doesn't need additional damage, but rather a touch-up on her mana-costs to stand-up to energy/cooldown abusers like Yasuo and Zed. Lee, on the other hand, certainly did not need more options in his kit - and rewarding using his ultimate on high-hp targets should come at the cost of making it weaker against squishy targets. All it does now is eliminate the prospect of making a poor decision as Lee - no character should ever be rewarded for initiating on a tank if they can also completely blow-up an ADC. Simply put... what gives? I've read the patch notes, watched the rundown, and the logic behind it makes no sense especially considering that they didn't take anything away from him in order to give him that power. Is someone at Riot willing to walk us through their thought process because "rewarding bad players" is the worst possible design logic I've ever heard across the entire gaming genre.

Meh. I don't mind the changes to Lee Sin too much, but I don't PLAY Lee Sin. Syndra I have played quite a bit, and to be honest, I'm thankful for the buffs. People used to joke saying "you could miss all your skills, and press R on Syndra and still win." While in some cases that was very much true (especially with DFG), you had nothing to do AFTER you used Ult. Or rather, it took a lot more work to get results that other mages could get much easier.

I can't say anything on Lee. I have never played him, I don't plan on it, and I don't therefore know how difficult/easy he may or may not be to play correctly.

Syndra, on the other hand, I believe needs buffs. When you think of a midlane mage like her, you think about someone who is immobile but in exchange has quite a lot of damage, sometimes area of effect, as well as decent CC. These reasons are supposed to be why you would choose her over an AP assassin; AP assassins are supposed to dish out INCREDIBLY high amounts of damage, but not area of effect, and they should have minimal CC as well as decent mobility. Syndra sacrifices mobility in exchange for what? CC? Sure, but damn is her CC difficult to land, her W slow especially. I think that with these buffs, they are trying to make her truly accomplish what a mid lane mage should be. Look at Viktor for example! If I had to choose between him and LeBlanc, I wouldn't immediately just choose LeBlanc because of high damage and mobility. I would actually put him into consideration. This is what they are trying to do with Syndra. They are buffing the mage aspects of her so that she actually looks like a decent choice when put next to high damage, high mobility champions such as LeBlanc and Katarina.

They're giving Syndra better peel and better damage, so as to increase her viability.

Thanks for your response FluffCow, however seeing from recent Riot responses her E has pretty high reliability even after the nerfs that reduced its auto-target acquisition. Syndra doesn't have the sheer AOE damage of other mages like Brand, but she certainly makes up for it by having access to far more single-target damage. From my own experience with Syndra, she seemed to have suffered in general due to taxing mana costs on her abilities. Do you think that making her a bit more spammable would increase her overall reliability considering that she lacks mobility?

If by spammable, you mean, her mana costs are reduced or her mana regeneration is increased by a little bit, then yes, I believe she would be more reliable. Before I even continue, I cannot thank you enough for being so kind as to saying "Thanks for your response"; little things like these make my day, thank you so much <3. Back to the topic, though. I mean, Syndra, much like Brand, is SUPPOSED to be easy to assassinate; she's immobile for a reason! They had to give her some sort of weakness, and this is where they decided to. Her skills are also... well skill shots. Her Q, at least for me, is relatively difficult to land (not impossible, but hard). Her W I find impossible to land omg I'm never going to learn this skill. Her E, although isn't difficult to land, due to it's high cooldown, seems to work much better when saved for assassins that go ALL-IN on you; it's her only escape. And her ultimate is just damage, designed to finish the job off. She doesn't need to be more spammable; the problem isn't how fast she can spam her abilities. The problem is that, in this current meta, she legitimately is ineffective, because she is countered by mobility in general, but even more so, all-in (assassins). This is why I am satisfied with the buffs. I'm not really talking about the damage, but more so the peel. She needed that; she needed something to help her survive so that late game she isn't just deleted. This is honestly why I think Twitch needs a slight rework, but that's a whole other discussion. However, if you ask me, instead of increasing the range, I think that the stun duration could have been increased by, maybe half a second? All the times I've used her (majorly support), when I get hooked by a Thresh and quickly use my E to try and escape, whoa does that very rarely work.

In my opinion Lee doesn't need buffs but skill but Syndra suffers hard at late game this boost will make her popular again I think.

Lee is the most fun champion in the game.

No doubt - Lee is mobile, flashy, and can dance around enemies like no other... that doesn't remove the fact that most characters can't deal with his kit, and that he will always be a dominant jungler because of it.

Imo Lee sin needs a rework to stop being brainless early game and 1 shorting machine to more skill required champ and better late game
