Usually starting w helps with the first minute farming if you land all 3 hits just right. Also good for leashing since the extra damage can make your jungler be on your good side.

Max W first for the 3 hit damage, then Q then E and ult when possible.

In combat, you want to auto attack, Q, auto attack, since the boomerang applies the w's passive, you get those 3 stacks right off the bat, causing good damage. Save your E for escapes or engages.

If you're about to turn into mega gnar, press E on a minion/enemy/ally, it cause the bounce and then the mega's E on landing, allowing you to be right in the middle of a team fight, and if close to a wall, allows you to ult most of your enemies towards it, allowing your team to engage and follow up.

In build, you usually want item 3071 first then tanky items according to what the enemy carries. If you're ahead or well fed, having item 3022 helps sticking to targets, alongside more damage and the ability to kyte melee enemies better.

Not exactly great to earn a S rank, but it's fine enough for a rookie.

what tank Items work best? or course depends on the game matchup but anything in specific that work best with him?

Start q and max q in my opinion. It does more damage and once you get to higher ranks and a shorter cd you can start to chain slow opponents.

I max q first for reasons above. E second for more escapes and positioning.

I don't like botrk personally. He already has percentage health shred on his e and the cdr from a black cleaver is great and gives him a bit of movement speed to stick to people.

Just farm and try to poke. When your rage gets full don't be conspicuous but try to jump on them and trade when you transform because usually you will come out ahead. Most of the time however they back off when you transform. You can bait with transform also if your low health but be careful or you'll die before you gain that little bit of health.

Hardest part about playing Gnar is managing his rage bar so you can transform at opportune moments.

I really like sunfire cape. But also randuin's omen is good if their adc is real ahead. Also the armor u buy is up to the enemies comp. also black clever is good too.

Frozen mallet is good for experienced gnar players but yes it's really good once you get the hang of it.
