Back then there was no super op champion (cept Kassadin) but that was it. You didn't have massive damage everywhere and the games were fun and long and towers did damage and items where fun to build because you didn't have to build the meta items. You could build atmas impaler and be a tanky adc. Now you have to build morellinomicom as your first item mid lane or gg

I'll just hit one of your points since each would take a long time to address. Riot will not release anymore simple champions nor rework simple champions and leave them simple. The player base has evolved from 4 to 5 years and the expectation now is to have champions that are fun and interactive to play. This happens with every game as it evolves and the play base gets accustomed to it.

As someone whose been playing since the pre-season I can tell you the champions we have now are a lot more complex and dynamic then the ones we have before. Then again; the game is a lot more fun than seeing who could click on who the fastest like it was before.

I mean, I do miss towers being not made of paper, but there have always been boogeyman champs. It's just easier for the egregious ones to slip through as there are more and more champs made.

Season 3 had Darius being pretty ridiculous top lane... granted top lane was more of an island back then, but it was essentially an auto-win for Darius at that time. Vi and J4 were pretty out of hand in the jungle also. Kassadin and LeBlanc (in season 3 she still had her silence) were insane mid--grantd LeBlanc's win rate was always terrible. Jinx came out back then and was pretty out of hand---let's not forget that Season 3 brought us Yasuo also (pre-season 4 I guess technically), although in his initial release Yasuo was considered weak and actually received BUFFS it you can believe it.

Malzahar was an unstoppable lane bully but his team fighting was kind of 'meh' at the time.

Leona was the only support that mattered---although I used to play LeBlanc support because of her silence and that was unpleasant for my lane opponents.

Ehhhhhhhhh i think the game has gotten way better. The champions that have come out since season 4 are awesome. Visually the game looks 100000000000x better. Elemental dragons bring a fresh feel to every game. Rift Herald makes top side NOT completely worthless until baron spawns. The jungle plants have really useful interactions. You can definitely still build off-meta and find success with niche stuff.

EVERYTHIIIIIIIIIIIIING is OP now which means nobody is OP. [slayer-jinx-catface]
