How is Leona not op? I know she isn't, but on paper her damn kit looks OP.

I mean she can reach you through minions. She's like a tankier, easier Lee with no escape. How comes she doesn't consistently win 2v2s bot snowballing in favor of her ADC?

she's got no poke, only has a self shield, and has to all-in in order to stun.

outclassed by Braum in all regards.

Braum can't lock down carries as well as Leona. Not to mention doesn't even come close in terms of damage. And she has tools to all-in: free defense from W, mini-root E, stun on Q.

Braum is a defensive support, Leona is an offensive support.

She is good only vs very squishy teams. Nautilus has more CC and better DPS (with E spam).

Leona DOES generally just 1v2 against Sona, Nami, Karma and pretty much every squishy support besides Janna and Lulu.

Leona's strength is one thing crowding these supports out of bot lane. Her existence has warped the bot meta.

As a leona main, all of these responses (no offense) are of little imagination to her ability.

with the current meta (i dont feel like going over my runes and masteries but I get about 42% Attack Speed from runes)

I can play any role with leona and carry.

Typically my starter item is either

Dorans blade for a solo lane Relic Shield for a duo Knife for jg (go sated dev)

After that it depends on what happens in lane

If i get an early two kill lead and I know im going to get kills I go back and grab as many dorans as i can get and repeat

I will stack about 5-6 dorans blades and then start replacing the items out after this initial "sugar rush" starts to fall off

the dorans give me roughly 350hp 35ad and 15% lifesteal for 2200g

however this is situational...

whether Istack dorans or not, I go with one of several builds (always build by situation) but typically either a final build of

RELIC SHIELD (maxed) Steraks, Warmogs, titanic hydra, deadmans plate, the last item is always situational i like sunfires for the aoe when you grab, but banner of command can be good too.

or

Steraks, BoTRK, Ravenous Hydra, Berserkers Boots, and go situational from there for more of an AD build

either build melts faces with my trees

I have laned against many champions (olaf tryn.. akali, zed, yas,....the works )

and champions that are generally unstopabble are knocked assunder.

Typical starting strategy is Hook + BUBBLE (you w after if you get hook at same time) > ULT > Mini Stun > go into

No ult combo of Hook + Bubble > Stun > repeat

People tend to focus her ADC.

She's a very all-in support. To do anything, she has to engage, which means she's likely to get baited, and if she falls behind and doesn't win the all-ins anymore, she becomes useless for quite some time.

If Leona fails a single all-in, she tends to lose the lane fairly hard.

On the contrast, Thresh, Braum, Alistar, etc can take safer fights and contribute without hard engaging.

Leona is a champion that is right on the line between balanced and OP. She is very strong, but not too much.
