Yorick Tips and Tricks
- Later in the game, using your E on a monster near the edge of lane will cause your Mist Walkers to jump at the monster and, therefore, switch to Jungle AI where they will follow you in the Jungle instead of pushing down the lane. This can be used to transition lanes.
- Mist Walkers will proc the healing from Death's Dance and Hextech Gunblade, while the Maiden of the Mist will only proc the healing of Hextech Gunblade. Normal life steal and spell vamp will not apply to both.
- Mist Walkers being in combat will equal you being in combat, allowing you to charge Grasp of the Undying without having to attack nearby units.
- Mist Walkers will proc both of Black Cleaver's passives.
- Your Mist Walkers and Maiden can allow you to solo Rift Herald and Dragon at early levels by having the Mist Walkers and the Maiden tank damage for you. This is especially true for Rift Herald since he is melee. For Dragon, it's a little trickier since you need to spawn Maiden in close enough to Dragon while you are already in combat with Dragon so that the Maiden will stay within an extremely close "melee" range from the Dragon and the Dragon will still focus it over you. If you are not already fighting Dragon when you spawn the Maiden, it will be EXTREMELY hard to position the Maiden correctly.
- Your W's impassable effect comes into effect sooner than the graphics show, so do not underestimate the effective range for catching people out.
- Maxing Q first is really useful for early trading. After that, max your E second for increased control of your Mist Walkers. Max W last since the disruption it provides is good enough at Level 1.
- When fleeing from opponents enter jungle and drop your wall in a corridor, they need to cross two walls which most champs cannot, or destroy it either way your gone. (posted by SpoofGhoul)
- When used with smart cast Yorick's Mourning Mist (E) AoE isn't actually centered on your mouse. The AoE's closest edge to Yorick is actually at the position your mouse is at. This is kind of awkward at first for people who are used to casting ground targeted AoEs with smart cast as all other ground targeted AoEs are centered on your cursor. (posted by 3SheetsTotheWind)
