Warding smite is by far the strongest smite for 99% of junglers

Wards win games. It's cliche i know but seriously. Having 2/3rds a sight stone at the cost of ~100 damage + Small slow and the in ability to smite raptors/gromp/wolves while having smites for players makes it clear which smite is strongest for junglers who have a gap closer of any kind.

Obviously It's not as common as red or blue and while red does have a use in it's 1v1 potential green has the potential to turn 1v1's into 2v1's.

Why don't we see more green smites? Simple it's not glamorous. People want more damage. This is the equivalent of buying the long sword instead of 6 wards.

This is a really unfair assessment of the situation designed to make it seem that it is never acceptable to purchase any smite other than the warding smite and to portray yourself as the one sensible person in a sea of idiots. The situation with smites is nowhere near as clear cut as you are suggesting, and motivation for foregoing green smite can be numerous reasons beyond "I want more damage". Going for the "lol people just want their damages" explanation is really lazy and makes you look like a tool.

Even in competitive play, green smite is nowhere near 100% pick rate and it is NOT essential to purchase Sightstone on a jungler using either red or blue smite. You have gone so far away from the "lol what's vision" end of the spectrum that you are valuing vision far too much, to the point where you assume it automatically is the optimal choice in every situation regardless of opportunity cost. That's not the case.

It's a strategic choice, the smite system as a whole is. I really really like green smite, as it allows me to gain a huge amount of vision control combined with red trinket and allows me to give my laners a bit more safety. On the other hand, red smite gives me added safety from being picked off, gives me greater invade potential on the enemy jungler and increases my ability to pull off successful ganks as it significantly lowers the damage I'm likely to take and helps me finish people off. Blue makes it much harder to kite me, makes it easier for me to kite enemies and adds a little bit of extra damage to my champion when that's needed.

Every smite is great and they all do really unique, powerful things. Green makes your ability to control objectives better, gives your laners more safety to be aggressive and indirectly allows you to gank more productively (because it allows you to sweep before ganks). Red smite gives you increased safety in the jungle and gives you more snowball options (increased chance of killing the enemy jungler and killing in ganks). Blue smite has too many potential uses in fights to list.

Your post is just really rude as a whole and if you really think smite choice is as obvious as you seem to, you're dumb as well as rude.

In competitive 100% of junglers buy either green smite or sight stone.

And rek Sai and Gragas are played every game. You're basically comparing two completely different games. Stop.

It's really not. The dueling power that red smite gives you is pretty huge on assassin junglers and the slow is necessary for some junglers really, really shitty ganks. Especially on junglers like Nidalee Shaco Maokai they have built in wards. Champions like Udyr Amumu need the blue smite so they can actually catch up to enemies. Nidalee Graves take red smite to burst easier and be tankier

+1, but let me correct a little

The dueling power that red smite gives you is pretty huge on assassin junglers

Not just assassins, but duelers like Shyvana and Nocturne can also get it to shut down the enemy jungler.

Champions like Sejuani, Zac, and Nautilus should build it imo since they have more than enough CC in their kits.

Unless playing Graves because you're stacking those sweet sweet reductions, (15% from PD, 20% from red smite, and 15% as bleed from DD and 120 MR/armor from quickdraw) I mean why would you handicap yourself when you can all in their strongest player and 1v5

if you wanna skirmish red. if you wanna reduce the amount of kiting you go blue if you wanna play the objectives game go wards simple. soloque is all about snowballing so people just go dmg...i love the green smite personally but i rarely use cause i play the snowball game cause i hate taking the game beyond 30mins cause there is a higher chance of my team throwing.

Wards statistically reduce snowballing more than reducing damage.

Wards reduce snowballing, but more damage increases your own chances of snowballing.

wards increase snowballing aswell. you just keep track of the enemy jungler and coutnergank invade him which leads to harder snowballing at cases but you need game knowledge to use green smite offencively.

Because non-competitive often turns into a series of stat-checks. This becomes less predictable with you having no control over the laners' actions, so you have to ball as much as you can into your own hands. Hell, even if you make suggestions to try to sway their judgement of certain situations, you'll usually get flamed for not letting them do/think what they want.

This becomes even more applicable if you consider that many people fail to notice the minimap before its too late...

I do agree that the warding jungle option should be utilized more, but there are somewhat fair arguments for not utilizing it. The payout can be massive potentially, but its extremely unreliable in a sense, especially below diamond...will your team react to the information? Will they react before its too late to utilize that information well? If they react in time, will they react correctly?

These three questions are exactly why its not utilized as often.

green smite is pretty useless to most champions without some sort of ward hop. Vision is good but by no means is auto win?

Unless you are an assassin looking for picks you should be holding your item 3361 for majority of the game anyways. in addition to placing 1-4 pinks a game. I will take blue smite 9/10 on an assassin and red smite on auto attack based champs.

You get 2 default wards and you can buy pinks, you cant buy a slow you get to use on command. Red serves important purposes as well.

If everyone placed their wards efficiently, you would never need to get green smite on anyone but LeeSin Jax Nidalee

For invading junglers wards let your laners roam first.
