Meanwhile, here I am still wondering why Nashor's is literally the only "bonus on-hit damage" item in the game that doesn't build out of Recurve Bow.

item 1043 + item 3108 would be nice and makes sense. That leaves item 3101 to build only on item 3078 tho.

Actually item 1043 + item 3113 makes more sense for me, despite the fact it would leave Nashor with 0 CDR, but IMO an On-hit champ prefers MS rather than CDR.

item 3101 is better than item 1043 , not only gives cdr and more attack speed, but procs magic damage instead of physical. And its better because it builds into items that people that buy AD don't buy.

for the most part i think nashors build path is the best for the champs that use it. teemo and azir. they want that early cdr. and attack speed more than the physical damage aspect of it

At this point it's mostly an issue of stats, imo. Technically Nashor's could build from a Recurve Bow + Fiendish Codex combo and still keep its 20% CDR, but Stinger just happened to be its component for the longest time. The perfect solution could be to make Nashor's build from Recurve Bow on top of its current components, but that would make it reach an excess of 10% attack speed (then again, reducing Stinger's cost to 1K and reducing its attack speed to 25% could fix that).

Wanna know the problem with this? Champions who use this item as the CORE part of their build (Kayle), (Azir), sometimes (Teemo) will receive a huge nerf due to the implementation of it. 15% attack speed off the stinger hurts like a B* early but if you remove HALF the as from the main item I won't be buying it any more. Might as well trash the whole item if a change like that is implemented because I for one would just rush Wits for my on hit and farming needs (as well as some danmed good defense) AND getting it's buffed next patch to boot. Then later get a different cdr core item later such as item 3165 or item 3078. which both offer better stats and better building paths (Assuming they nerf Nashors) and maybe even if they do not. 15% off of stinger is, again a HUGE danmed nerf early and it makes rushing other items or even simply REPLACING other items over Nashors far more appealing.

I like the idea (and second the motion), but doing maths item 3115 cost is 3000. Being paid 900 from item 3108 and 1100 from new item 3101. There's only 1000 G left wich isn't so much (100 G lesser than item 3285).

item 3115 needs a touch tho, its only bought on hybrid builds, wich makes sense, but you will only see it on Hybrid Kayle, Hybrid Yi, Hybrid Orianna, Hybrid Shyvanna, and bassicaly every AS-Mage troll build (wich i like, but its not the game intended).

not only in hybrid build, pure AP champions like Diana Teemo Azir Ekko can build it.

GoldDungBeetle2 votes

Ok i forgot about Azir (and it is good on teemo too), But Diana and Ekko are not on hit fans (maybe Diana), they usually go Off-Tank (Tank-AP-Rylai) or burst AP (AP-lichbane).

MunchCrunchLunch1 votes

its really godly on diana. cdr and the attack speed allows her to proc its passive faster. on ekko however. meh. i guess it wouldn't be terrible but i mean ap squish melee tryna auto people just doesn't seem like a good idea. diana is tanky at least. you need quite a bit of ap to get some good on hit and its mostly good on champs that already have on hits in their kits like teemo

Milodic Mellodi1 votes

Also don't forget about Marksman-class Champs who scale well with AP like Tristana, Ezreal, and Teemo.

Sire Hippington1 votes

Hybrid actually not that much, any champ with an ap-scaleing on-hit does use it well, stackin ap+nashors and evt guinsoos. Wouldn't be opposed to small buffs though, as i love the item. Imo some manasutain would be awsome, as AS and CDR both point towards an extendet combat pattern rather than quick burst, and cdr also means more spells, so more mana needed. Higher base damage and lower scaleing might also be nice, so it actually fits better into hybrid or bruiser builts, as the on-hit atm is rather weak if you don't go for a rather ap-heavy built.

i get it on evelyn sometimes after Echo(jungle version),lichbane. its nice cause of the double on hit apply from Ravage.

If the 20% CDR on Trinity Force doesn't pan out, they could just give it a Recurve Bow instead of Stinger as well.

Also, Stinger builds into Dervish Blade as well. Not that many people remember Dervish Blade exists due to it being a Treeline-only item.

that could be, i think recurve bow fits trinity better, 20% CDR seems odd in Trinity

yeah, but its not part of the "actual" game

To be completely honest I think item 3115 is going to need a rework since they are starting to screw around with the building paths and nerfing the core component for most of the champions who use this item (item 3101 ). Rushing item 3101 is no longer viable since you are losing 15% of the attack speed that you would have received before (which the whole reason you BUY this item is because that early attack speed is EXTREMELY necessary for the success of these champions) and besides item 3115 is only used on maybe 10 champions regularly and even that is stretching it.

item 3115 No longer fits into what Riot wants for League in my opinion which is niche items which EVERYONE can use circumstantially and I find the build path far less appealing if the core cdr item for the champions which DO use it is nerfed. It is far more likely that these champions will simply start using item 3078 for their cdr needs and supplementing item 3115 for a flat on hit item such as item 3091 which is cheaper (by 600g next patch) provides 40 flat on hit, 50% attack speed AND 65 MR when fully stacked.

Personally I believe that either item 3115 needs to be buffed to scale stronger since its going to be a stupid weak early build path or more likely, the champions who remain nearly completely dependent on this item need to be buffed or tweaked so that other build paths are viable.

To anyone who does not think this is a huge nerf, imagine if Riot removed 10% worth of a skill's damage from a champion because to the champions who use this item the damage of the spell is tied directly into their attack speed so if you remove 10% of the attack speed from a core item they lose 10% of the damage that they could possible be dealing during a trade with that skill (Kayle's E, Azir's Arise, Teemo's E) While I'm sure my math is more than a little bit off I believe this will correlate to 1-2 auto attacks per trade that these champions are no longer able to dish out early. now lets use Kayle in this example.

Level 4, having just backed and grabbed stinger Kayle has two points in her E, which deals 20 / 30 / 40 / 50 / 60 (+ 30% AP) (+ 20 / 25 / 30 / 35 / 40% AD) at each level accordingly.

Kayle's base AD at this level is 57, her base attack speed is 0.638 and her base AP is 0 though she will likely have a Dorans ring which will be 15 ap.

NOW 15% attack speed equals to .09 attack speed per second (think 0.64 versus 0.73)

35% attack speed equals .21 attack speed per second

50% attack speed equals .3 attack speed per second

So lets do the old damage first if you were to multiply all those numbers by Kayle's base stats at level 4 you get

OLD [(0.638+0.300)(30))+((0.3)(15item 1056 ))+((0.25)(57)] = 46.89 per second

vs

NEW [(0.638+0.21)(30))+((0.3)(15item 1056 ))+((0.25)(57)] = 44.19 per second

so, say you are in an extended trade for say 4 seconds while you peel say Darius, you now lose the possibility of dealing 8 damage per trade.

While that may not seem like much 8 damage per trade can be the reason your opponent walks away with 52 hp when you are dead versus you walking away AND this is assuming that you meet the maximum amount damage while you kite and do not miss a single stutterstep, stop at EXACTLY the correct time to hit again and start moving at EXACTLY the correct time to get into position for the next.

In actuality you will likely be losing 1-2 hits per trade due to this change assuming you are playing the champion at peak potential which will equal to around

2[((30)+((.3)(15))+((.25)(57))] = 97.5 damage.

While all of these numbers are based off of Kayle's stats I'm sure you understand all the champions who use item 3101 as a core item to apply their abilities damage will feel the sting.
