How do you deal with feeders ?

FioraWillCarry··1 votes·600 views

Just had a game where my team fed a Graves 10-1 before 20 minutes. I have a question for high elo midlaners.....how the hell did you guys even get to higher elos(Gold and up) when every game down here in Bronze people feed like its the goal of the game. Not really trying to get Gold or anything. Just wanna know what I can do to win or have a better chance as a mid laner. Gold people obviously found a way otherwise they wouldn't be Gold and such. What's your secret ?

you have 2 options. Note this is plat.

I played a game where my bot lane was collectively 0-6 and the score was 1-6 by 10 minutes.

The first is to help bot. This is the direct way of helping. Maybe they can get back on their feet. But in my case after I helped bot get a kill, I left and they got immediately double killed. At that point I wrote bot off as a lost cause.

The second is to get your solo lanes and/or jungler fed. Note that this will only work if the enemy team is tank light. In that game, I was jungling and got our mid huge while suppressing the enemy mid. Eventually he could 1 shot anyone. I also got top fed such that he could facetank the whole enemy team for days while forcing the enemy top to never leave or lose all towers. In the process I also became so fed, I could dive 1v3, kill a carry and walk away. This only worked because the enemy team was essentially 5 carries that all needed gold. If some of them had utility and didn't need gold, I do not think this strategy would've been as successful.

Fortunately in bronze everyone picks 4 AD glass cannons + mage support that starts Doran's Ring.

Is it a good idea to abandon lane and risk losing towers to babysit a lane ? I've been thinking that this might be the only thing I can do to actually change the outcome of a game. But losing a tower without a fight just doesn't really feel right to me, you know ?

lol....its not strange to see 3 tanks and 2 carries on a Bronze team.

Fuck it. Played a few more games today and its been the same. My teams feed like crazy. I've come to the conclusion that there is absolutely no way one can win consistently without a premade.

I don't care what anyone says, there is nothing any one person, not even a Diamond player, can do when they get a team that feeds horrendously. Even so, I thank you all for your responses. I'll just play for playing sake. I'll try not to care anymore about winning or losing.

What does chat have to do with anything ?

In order to rise from Bronze to Gold, Platinum, Diamond etc, you have to win more than you lose and with every game from Bronze up to even Silver being a feeding frenzy, I'm asking how do these people win more than they lose. If I play 20 games, every game it seems, my team feeds like crazy. I'm asking, what is the secret to winning these games that higher elo plays seem to know. How in God's name do they rise having to play with people who are talented at feeding. I'm no great player but at the very least, I seem to be the only one in Bronze who doesn't feed horrendously during the laning phase(Except when I play AD Carry, or a new champ I never played before).

Thirst seems to be a huge problem at my elo. I've seen people chase a low life enemy clear across the entire map into unwarded jungle instead of shoving lanes. I've been in teamfights where we lost and I barely escape with something like 25 HP only to have 3 people all chase me all the way back to base hoping to secure the kill when they should be thinking about taking a tower/dragon or just shoving a lane. Explaining this folly is a waste of time so all I can do is try to adapt. How do I adapt to this ?

What is it that high elo players do that I'm not doing.

Fine, I will tell you how it works.

1-Every game you lose is 100% your fault, never blame your teamates, only blame yourself, this promotes a mind set where you accept your wrongs and learn from them

2-Play to learn not to win, If you play to win you will get mad when you lose, if you play to learn, you will improve which will increase your win rate for you are becoming better as a player.

3-Git Gud, this sounds rather cruel but fact is, if your a Legit Silver, you are better then a Legit Bronze, if you are a Legit Gold you are better then a Legit Silever, etc etc. if you find yourself at a 50 50 win loss ratio then that means you are exactly where you belong, you have yet to grow into the learning curve to advance to the next elo.

How does one GIT GUD Pick something you want to get good at Focus on it every game

Seriously I cant count how many bad bronzies i met who have gone "i have gold mechanics i simply just dont try hard" and in reality they simply flat out suck. This is why points 1 2 and 3 are super important. This goes into the old phrase

"one must empty their glass and admit they know nothing" in order to grow, and dont give me that "oh I can ______" for fact is you havent if your still stuck in low elo.

anyways the TRUE secret to climbing out of low elo is simply flat out admitting you suck and badly need to practice. Climbing elo is a very humbling experience if your a serious player for it quite literally admitting you are bad so you can learn more.

So my bot lane feeds 10-0 before 20 mins and we lose its entirely my fault. That is what you're saying right ? I just want to be clear this is what you're saying. I don't mean anything by this, I am serious, I really want to be sure that this is the way high elo players think.

I tell the enemy team a certain member(s) of our team is Feeding (if they already couldn't tell), then I just play normally (while also playing in such a way I can make up for his/her/their feeding). After the game, whether we win or lose...if they continued to feed, I ask everyone to report that person(s). Unfortunately, there's nothing you can do about feeding. Perhaps if Riot forced inactivity on the feeder when a certain ratio (between kda and the current time, and their kda...as well as other things) was met, we might get somewhere. However...right now there's just not much Riot can do about that. I hate it, we hate it, everyone with a soul hates it...but until we have a surefire way to prevent Feeders from feeding while also making it possible to win...I just don't know. Maybe perhaps the Feeder is forced into inactivity for a certain amount of time, and the opponent's team gets a small stat deduction to let the feeder's team make up for it?

Ok, I just broke my losing streak. Game started out, you guess it, bot lane feeding yet again for what seems like the 20th game in a row. Only reason we won is because I completely abandoned mid and went bot after their AD Carry went 3-0 to try and prevent it from getting worse. I lost my two mid towers but got 2 kills and after that, I started sticking to my team like glue. I stopped bothering with objectives and shoving lanes. My only concern the entire game was sticking to my team in the hopes of preventing them from feeding. In the process I got fed, and two of my teammates got fed so we had 3 fed members vs their 1. We were able to take objectives and win.

I can only conclude from this that Bronze level play is all about getting fed. Objective control, lane pressure and all that jazz doesn't work. You have to play this like a death match, just a race to see who can get the most kills.

Actually, the one change that Riot made was the change to how towers take damage. It was changed late season 5, where towers are much easier to take down mid-late game. Before this change, comebacks were relatively easy. What I used to do was stall the game by ONLY pushing lanes and get CS in the process. Eventually, I'd have enough items win teamfights. I've abused this to make a number of spectacular comebacks from scored like 1-15. This is no longer possible. In addition to the changes to how towers take damage, minions also get strong for the team with more average levels. Lane pressure tactics absolutely do not work anymore when your team is behind.

All Riot has to do is revert these changes and a smart player would have more options to bring back a lost game.

This might be a bad idea, but what if they had something like a monthly clearly optional and unaffecting to gameplay payment plan that put you on a separate matchmaking server than those that don't (like the PBE)? And a cool thing about it would be if you clearly fed a certain amount of games and lost those games, you'd get the PBE-like status revoked and you wasted the money (and would have to pay up again if you want it back). I don't know, it's just an idea. And it's probably bad because then it'd just turn League into another TF2.

I don't really think its necessary to punish players for being terrible at the game. I just think we need some kind of reliable way for teams to still have a chance after a lane feeds heavily. As it stands now, the first team to feed as little as 3-0 is enough to determine they are going to win 95% of the time.
