Thoughts on the gold item changes:

It makes a lot more sense for the new bonus gold and mana restore on kills/assists to be on the Spell Thief charged passive rather than movement speed (not sure what supports like Brand, Annie, Zyra, Veigar, etc will do with the movement speed once they are already in range with their attacks and abilities, they would rather have the extra gold and mana restore for being aggressive; kind of gives them a discount morellos passive that way).

Coin changes seem pretty good, need to play with them.

It may be better to have all the upgraded passives to be similar to each other. Relic line when upgraded instead of the shield that restores when out of combat could heal and give gold on kills/assists, and the other two being gold and mana on kills/assists; this way it makes a good transition between laning phase to teamfights and skirmishes. Plus support-tanks should have more of an emphasis on peeling for their backline rather than engaging so the shield is weird in that regard even though it makes sense for engaging tanks, but the role should be about peeling and protecting and to do that you need to be alive so a heal+gold makes sense, where as coin and spell thief will be mostly bought on ranged champions (and sometimes coin on melees, but that is the exception than the norm).

Early skill point may be too hard to balance, it is worth testing out on LIVE, but I definitely see the player base potentially abusing this function to the extreme and would just be removed - we will see though.

The point of Spell thief's(it seems) is for the poke supports to be able to weave in and out with the move speed, rather than running in, poking, and walking out while risking retaliation. A extra protection from being slightly out of position or for running away.

Coin is supposed to be for the more passive supports, so extra gold on assist to go with the most dangerous gold gen passive is fair(seriously, Soraka now has to go into the enemy minion wave to get gold early on. I think she deserves some extra assist gold in compensation). Meanwhile, poke supports can get gold from ~700-1550(Zyra q+ranged plant with no other targets in range) range and can earn it anywhere, doing no special action(if you are not attacking the enemy with any support, not just poke, you are doing it wrong).

Plus support-tanks should have more of an emphasis on peeling for their backline rather than engaging so the shield is weird in that regard even though it makes sense for engaging tanks

And tank supports could use that regenerating shield much more than a bit of health on an assist, since you will always take damage during a fight(you are a tank), but not every fight will give you a kill. And are you telling me that Braum can't use a shield very well? He is a shield, so having a buffer is useful. TahmKench aswell. And don't forget Taric. Even the tank supports that focus on peeling for an ally do so by being a meat shield. Im not including thresh as coin is the obvious choice for him, being that the coins drop exactly like his* souls do.

The biggest thing about the new coin will be giving mana instead of health - sure helps nami and sona keep up their sustain but it is better than always being full health and having harass never stick for free, at least heals cost mana. Even then with Nami and Sona they are great with spell thiefs as well, so it be a toss up and see if the gold gain is somewhat close to spell thiefs [spell thiefs should be the most because it has the most risk, excluding morg pool which should be reworked anyways].

All tanks use heals and shields, but why even bother stating the obvious since it makes you sound dumb. Point is healing for let's say 10%~ max health per kill/assist rewards you as a support that stays alive rather than suicide engage to protect your backline since you are meant to die second to last as support since you cannot peel if you are dead.

Thresh may want relic shield still since the charges heal and the item gives health, coin does not, still is a toss up for some games. Taric and Tahm would probably go for the coin to give them back mana; taric can heal with mana and tahm can keep harassing with mana - you also get talisman on them later which is always good.
