Is Teemo mid a troll pick?

Personal biased opinions aside, would Teemo mid be troll? He can fill both AD and AP depending on your team comp and is so fricken fun at being a furry little shroom dropping bastard!

Ad teemo is a bit of a baggage to his team (unless you have like 3 ap). Ap teemo is viable however as you can get really strong objective control with shrooms and his high dps with e. You just have to understand what you bring to a team and use it to win.

Not a troll, but suboptimal against most mages. A Syndra eats him alive for example.

Agreed, just like top lane I wouldn't pick him blindly but I've had pretty good success with him so far. Just didn't want to start a game with people auto tilting and afk over a teemo mid pick lol.

I get so much hate when I lock in a teemo, and at the end of the day, I'm with the most kills and damage then our AP Mid. Teemo is good if you know how to play him, people just have a hate for him because well..he is teemo. But a good teemo can never get ganked after level 6 and a great teemo would shroom up and down lanes.

Well it depends on the matchup and enemy team comp.

But vs most opponents its a troll pick for sure, he is so easy to kill or poke out of lane for many mages and a lot of assassins too.

Teemo also lacks the wave-clear/push power and will most likely be shoved into turret very often and fall behind like that whilst the enemy roams and snowballs his other lanes too.

Teemo is good at bullying other melee champions but really falls flat vs champs with more range and wave-clear. He is also very susceptible to being bursted.

And due to lack of shroom duration and scuttlefucks the dank crab not as good for controlling vision and objectives anymore, which he used to be great at a long long time ago in a galaxy far far away

He is also not great in team fights either

So his current main strength lies in bullying melee champs and split pushing.

Any melee champs with burst & wave clear will be troublesome for him too so this leaves hardly any typical midlaners he will perform well against.

And later in the game outside of minor vision control he doesn't give much utility or team fight power and again lacks wave-clear so even if you win lane you might still struggle later which is why he is generally considered a troll pick

Thanks Spoof that's what I was looking for and I can see now where teemo mid could get dicey. With a couple items (AP) he turns into a beast but you gotta get there first.

99% a handicap to the team. unless you are trying to counterpick someone like ekko or yasuo,

people look to their mid lane for poke, wave clear, utility or pick potential. teemo offers utility but the utility he offers isn't in team fights so its highly situational when you would want a teemo in your mid lane.

in addition the majority of ranged mid laners will give teemo a hard time in lane as they dont rely on auto attacks to deal damage.

its not that it cant* work, but it works so infrequently that its pointless to try when we have all this information that says he will fail in mid.
