People in normals need a Xanax!

I just played my customary 4 games of norms before hopping into ranked and in literally all 4 games there was at least 1 rager and 2 of the 4 games had a rage afker, wtf? Thankfully 1 came back when he realized we could win although he did continue to run his mouth, but it blows my mind how upset people get in normals! IMO normals are for,

(In no particular order)

1- First games of the day 2- New players 3- New roles 4- New champs 5- Relax and enjoy

What it's NOT meant for is,

1- Playing your main and yelling at everyone else for not playing their main and being super serious.

I jungled all 4 games and it seemed the biggest arguments usually stem from the ADC and support fighting with each other followed closely by overextending feeding tops who cry about not getting ganks and that's why they are losing.

I get it everyone likes to win, but if you fall into the category of angry norms player please take a look at the list above and remember that next time you wanna scream and ruin everyone else's day 🤔

It's fun when you're trying a new champ and maybe make some bad decisions trying to get a feel for their limits and you get that one try hard guy on his main that's full tilt raging at you. Then you try to tell them you're trying a new champion and your trying your best, but they start going off about how your a troll/intentional feeder. Then they come to the boards and make a QQ thread about how people only troll in norms and that people have to take it as seriously as they do. Ride out the victim card as much as they can then repeat the cycle all over again.

Not everyone plays Ranked, so they take normals far more serious.

But... if you want to play serious games then why wouldn't you play ranked? Norms is supposed to cater for more fun and relaxed games, ranked is for people trying to win. That's literally the only difference in attitude / gameplay between the two.

Every person I know who doesn't play ranked chooses not to because they aren't interested in playing competitively. The idea that someone doesn't like ranked, presumably because it's too competitive for them, and so chooses to play norms, but then expects everyone else to be competitive is nonsensical.

Because they want to take it seriously but not too seriously. They want to take it seriously enough that people have a semblance of a team, but they don't want to play in an environment where people will flip out if you pick Shyv jungle, Quinn bot, Middlesticks, or Galio anywhere.

As Mystic says, when you don't play ranked at all your competitive spirit goes to normals.

I say if you're in Blind Pick you're actually there just for the lolz, but if you're in Normal Draft you can be serious and expect others to play at least somewhat seriously.

Eh, I think that's just the individual. I play far more normal draft than I do ranked, mostly because of the friends I play with.

But I'm not die-hard aggressive in normal nor take it extremely seriously. I want to win, sure, who doesn't? But I won't get upset if I lose, and I usually just like trying new things since it's a normal game.

I don't really expect anyone to play seriously, especially since some of my friends are Bronze/unranked and have serious issues with tilting haha, so I just try to have fun and mess around without stressing out.

(Also let's me go Thresh ADC without people screaming at me ;w; )

Dont you tell me what to do! You're not my dad! D:<

But in all seriousness, I like playing my mains in normals as well. Mostly to try and get S ranks to get them sweet mastery tokens. But I get what ya mean :) I like playing normals casually as well since it lets me try silly things and different builds. Never fun when you have "that guy" on your team who expects you to take it super seriously.

Also, I limit who I play ranked with since I have two friends who can kill my mood quickly when it comes to league ;_; So I only play normals with them whenever they're on.

I take Normal games serious, but only in as much as that I want to win. And I do expect everyone else to see it the same way - if you don't play to win, why play at all?

However, how people go towards that goal is none of my concern - if someone wants to go AD Soraka jungle, go right ahead. I don't care as long as they can make it work.

But then I would demand of them to revert back to something that is known to be working if the match starts to swing badly our way, and it's beyond question who's primarily responsible for that. But I keep my mouth shut about their choices until that point in the game.

That's completely understandable though haha. Wanting to win a normal game is totally fine and I don't think anyone is against that.

Most people just dont enjoy having that player who expects normals to be like pro level ranked play. Where you can only play strong meta champs, or you have to be god tier at the game and never miss a single skillshot.

What you're saying is completely fine haha. As long as your attitude isn't "omfg why are you picking AD Soraka jungle are you stupid", then no one is really bothered if you want to win or take a normal seriously.

It's when players expect high level play from a normals game that irritates players. At least for me it does. I'm playing a normal to try new things, yet I still want to have fun and relax. Doesn't mean I don't want to win, but I won't get upset if I lose.

As long as your attitude isn't "omfg why are you picking AD Soraka jungle are you stupid"...

I don't have to, because, unfortunately, someone else is usually like that already in champion select if they spot something that's not strictly meta and socially accepted as a functional combination.

I make a mental note of reporting such vastly unwarranted hate-behaviour instantly come end-game. It's not that hard to be polite, even when openly disagreeing with someone for their choices. They are free to do so, but it would be demanded that they do it in a proper manner.

Also, I would get upset if the off-meta playing around turns to be basically a throw, and a defeat as a result. Then I am looking to deal out reports. While I don't mind an AD Soraka jungle going 0/3/5, I do mind if the team scores are 24/45, because then you gotta wonder...where have this Soraka been all game?

Desolas Arterius1 votes

Then those players who resort to that type of behavior should reported so they learn to be polite when asking others to perhaps play something meta :P

It sucks when someone does act like that, but it shouldn't be accepted. That's how I think at least. I just want people to not be dicks to each other D:

You meet the extremes in normals. I have had people not rage when I went muramana syndra, and have had people rage when I take cs from their lane when they are dead.
