Anyone else finding it hard to main a champ this season?
With the new que system I have found that I play more Jung and sup than mid like I used to. Newer meta different roles. Who are yall maining?

Yeah.. I'm not a otp rengar anymore...sadly, I'm playing a lot of udyr which will probably be nerfed one way or another. Def not as fun as rengar but I get by.
It's even harder to main something I enjoy when xin and yi are the way they are.. much easier to play and get better results.
I've found it easier.
is my main & why I started playing League. It's so much easier to get jungle and lock in Voli and actually be able to play him now where as with the old que I could never get jungle. I'm also not big on
top or sup, mostly like him in the jungle.
Main Udyr, MF backups Xin/Ashe no troubles.
I main Elise and Reksai. Other champs that I play often are Ekko, Diana, and Nidalee. My main mains though, I play as supportive junglers and essentially build them like they're built in the LCS with sightstone and everything.
I don't think it's good to main one champion. I have a good pool of around 5 champions that I play a lot for my main role and even a good extra 5 or so that I'm at least decent with. It's best to find a good amount of champions that fit different styles of play to cater to your team comp, and counter the enemy team comp.
This may include a few champions that are tanky, have cc, range, high burst, sustain, poke, etc. I'm a support main though, so I feel supports are more inclined to be well rounded in different areas of play.
My mains:

others I'm decent at mostly used for countering:

A main is used to have a comfort pick and knowing a champ so well the cooldowns are second nature and you can carry almost anygame you play with them no matter what.
Well I'm at that point right now with the 5 champions I listed. It really just depends how long you've played to be honest. Once you get to a certain play time on a champion there comes a point where there's nothing else to learn for that champion and every action you do is automatic even if you come back after a week break
Once you get to this point you might as well pick up other champions in other aspects of the role you're playing so you can play your role with the right champion needed depending on team comp and countering.
Around ~50k exp on a champion is about what I consider usually the point where you've mastered that champion. Some less, some more, depending on the mechanics and difficulty of the champion. Even if you stop playing that champion for a while chances are once you start playing them again everything will come back to you.
not really. Look at streamers like Annie Bot who plays almost solely Annie or Cowsep with Yi. They got there due to their vast knowledge and matchups are key too mastering a champion that takes a good long time to do. I grinded out like a days worth of gangplank getting me to around 40k exp with him. And I in no way can do his mechanics well enough. I got good with his ult and early barrels. But mid-late game teamfights especially when they focus your barrels. That is the trick to a good GP and that will take tons of time to learn. And i agree I can play several champs very well but things like csing with swain without abilities is still very hard even though i have"mastery" of him. But with Ziggs, Heim and Old Ryze I know all of their mechanics and almost every trick and build. I can even ADC as ziggs pretty well just because I know him so well. Because I literally played nothing but heim and ziggs from lvl 20 to 30. I enjoyed having a comfort go to pick but Riot has just pissed me off enough with Mage nerfs and AP item costs that I found my true love. Jungling. So now I am trying to find my "main" so that i can ranked play with whoever to a high level. Right now its between Poppy, Diana, Gragas, and Graves. But they nerfed graves and buffed Gragas so its a rollercoaster.
Annie is just a broken champion when you know how to play her right. She can easily delete people with one combo at the same rate as other AP champions, but has a stun with her passive. Having enough time on her you'll be able to burst most enemies down to death and time things with the passive, but I don't like playing her tbh. That's another thing I think should be said is you should only main champions you're truly passionate about because it's going to make using their play style a lot easier.
There aren't many people like Annie Bot (at high elo) and the ones that do happen to manage to do it usually use a champion that has a well rounded kit, but also has carry potential. I think it's safe to say since the majority at high elo are capable of using multiple champions they mastered, that's probably the best way to play the game without being crippled by one champion.
If it was easier carrying games with one champion we would see a lot more 1 champion mains in high elo. The other thing about mastering other champions is you learn about the game as a whole versus not knowing. For instance if you're fighting one of the champions you mained for over dozens of games there's a good chance you'll know a lot more about his mind set, cd timers, and what he's planning on doing versus someone who just played 1 champion for the majority of their games.
There's an example for me and that was mastering Bard. Had I not mastered Bard there's a good chance I wouldn't be able to accurately cc people instantly after they come out of zhonya's. After using hundreds of Bard ults and failing hard mostly up to mastering Bard I got to a point where I was landing every single stun after zhonya's would go off of enemies I ulted. This knowledge applies to any champion you use when fighting against someone using zhonya's hourglass. It turns a enemy defensive play item into a huge advantage for you because you know the exact timing of when to stun the enemy.
Gangplank is one of the hardest champions mechanically in the game. Average for me is around ~50k to pretty much play a champion with my memory and not my brain, which is good because you can focus on other parts of the game. There are exceptions like gangplank, azir, etc. where you'll want 100k+ easily and other champions that are easier around 25k, but still probably safe to say 50k. Gangplank is also getting a really hard nerf this patch and isn't going be good anymore if it goes through.
Gragas is good right now, and anyone HP based like Mundo, Vald, and Zac with the Undying Grasp mastery. Gragas has some unique skill shots though. I might try him out again, but I think mastering him will need good amount of time.
absolutely right. And the trick with gragas is landing his E timing his W and do not normal cast his R use quick cast because what happens is instead of the ult just going you wait and think about it and ive noticed that i hit the direction i want them to go a lot better with quick cast rather than with normal. Try graggy top, mid and especially jung. I even made a short guide because i couldnt find one http://www.mobafire.com/league-of-legends/build/season-6-3-runic-echos-gragas-452644
I take mid primary and bot secondary. I have only got mid once (not counting when I play with 2 or 3 friends) and that queue didn't even make it through champ select.
low pick rate,low ban rate. I'm happy. but i don't play ranked,too toxic :p
OTP
Started the season as top lane/mid lane, top lane mainly because Poppy got reworked, became fun to play again, then suddenly, "POPPY OP." and shes banned constantly, and I got sick of it, so I switched to mid lane/ADC. Last season I was ADC/Support, so I've basically fallen back in to where I was.

yes... with god status champs changing EVERY patch for 0 reason, it's very difficult to play anything without having your champ screwed over by the new Flavor of the Patch champ.
Still need more bans. with
(some are debatable) Where many of them are flat out un-fun to play against.
theres 10.. can't ban all with 10, and not everyone wants to play that same 10 pool...
Started the season a Shaco main w/ a lot of Diana and support thrown in. Now I seem to be having issues with them but Diana and Shaco still work for me. I've had to adjust my Shaco play a good deal but it should be fine with a bit of practice.
