9/10 times it's going to lead to an inevitable hard tilt that will automatically make you lose anyways.
You're better off at least giving a half ass gank that you know you can live through so that they at least dont feel like youre not doing shit while they're getting hard camped.

RenownedWheat425 votesIf the lane is getting camped and the enemy laner/jungler are ahead for it, going in to a losing 2v2 isn't a good idea.
If a lane is getting camped, affect a lane on the opposite side, push for objectives, or punish the enemy jungler by taking their camps or something. There are options besides "babysit the losing lane," which is not an effective thing to do anyway.
Getting camped sucks SO MUCH ASS but I accept that I'm no longer a win condition if this happens to me and it works. People gotta learn to take the L now and then.
If you are not the win condition, then you gotta deal, sometimes.
