Riot is way too meek and overly sensitive now.
before i begin i want to point out that this is mainly concerning the gameplay boards, not the website as a whole.
most of us understand that this community is full of trolls and general assholes, i myself being one of those assholes at times. but that is no reason to not respond to alot of negative complaints that is going on right now, no reason whatsoever. i see more and more rioters comment something to the degree of "see, THIS is why we dont talk about xxx, because this random xxx anon is being mean!". That overly sensitive mentality needs to stop. in the old white boards rioters would respond even to obviously troll posts in a way that made sense, working around what was troll and what was truth. why cant we have that today? why shy away from negative posts? you guys dont even DEFEND yourselves anymore. atleast during the karma and trundle VUs the choices was defended until ultimately everyone involved in them admitted they were wrong, and because of that VUs of today more closely resemble their past models.
let me put it this way. a few years ago you would see atleast 5+ red names in the gameplay boards during any given day. weekends that would skyrocket and alot of rioters would just comment during their spare time or even during their breaks. now you are lucky to see 1, maybe 2 a day. this game, among ANY OTHER game on the internet including blizzard games, had the most player to dev interaction in the community. nowadays i think blizzard responds more to community complaints than riot. i know some rioters still do go out of their way to address complaints, but the problem is its usually the same one or two rioters who do this where as everyone else is just too meek to post at all.
if you guys dont believe me just look at the dev tracker. all red posts are now concentrated into the dev corner where they can selectively answer questions or the story, art, sound boards where rioters get the most compliments. the dev corner always was a good idea, but lets not ignore the gameplay boards? thats where the majority of balance issues get brought up at.
