Why are people doing camps at level 1?

If I ask you not to (politely), and you still do it, why are you expecting me to show you and the lane you inevitably lose because your "XP advantage" didn't work so well special attention?

I'm not coming into your lane and taking your CS at any point of the game unless it's 30 minutes in and I need to push/am behind and need some quick money. Fuck off and stop messing up my jungle clear.

Its something they've been doing in the LCS lately. And we know that 80% of solo que are LCS wannabes who follow it like law...

The pros do this because they usually work around it and take other jungle routes, usually ganking early or getting deep wards on the enemy. In solo que this doesn't happen as often and people still mimick it.

I hate LCS wannabes btw.

I hate when I see this. I know Krugs are a really annoying camp and I don't like to clear them but I need those blockheads to give you ganks. You like ganks, right? Don't claim something stupid like Carry tax or something. Minion tax exists because I burnt a summoner spell for you, or got you a kill. You're welcome. Even then, we only take like 2-3 minions... more if cinderhulk is on full blast for the tank junglers...

At 3 minutes in, you haven't done crap for me, and you have no right to take my creeps.

well, that's preferable to some newbs trying to help me take my first camp at level 1. they want to do their own? fine by me as long as i don't need the smite buff soon. at least they're pulling their own weight. i'm sure it's bad, but not as bad as someone that thinks they're doing something when they're not.

it looks from your description like they're doing it without the context of the awkwardness of a lane swap. IOW they are copying pros without knowing why the pros did it.

There are so many variables to this. If I am playing ADC with a competent support, and you are going to have to back before taking the camp by me, I'm taking it.

If I'm not going to reach the camp by the time it respawns if you kill it and you want/"need" it, then kill it. But this isn't about that. This is about top lanes who for some reason will come bot, take my wolves, then teleport back top after they heal and then lose their lane before I've even gotten there.

Don't take something that I need to finish my jungle route as quickly as possible so I can back, clear the other half of the jungle, and then gank. But if I'm gonna start red buff and not Krugs, then by all means, unless I need a hard leash, take the Krugs -- if I'm Sejuani, I'll even ask you to take them and not leash me. But if I ask you not to take my camp then don't take my camp. Please.

If you have a top laner coming to take your wolves at level 1, you have bigger issues in that game lol.

it's happened to me twice and neither of them won lane. Riven got demolished and Irelia was trading kills and losing the CS war

I just don't get why this is becoming a thing, it doesn't seem beneficial unless you're bot lane and poaching for the level 2 advantage

Well yeah, add it to the list of things that LCS has ruined about the game lol.

Depends on where you are starting relevant to which they are trying to take. If they have a strong instant AOE like Maokai (if he builds up enough saplings) that can clear raptors when you are not likely to do on your first clear anyways then really no need to be upset (though on some junglers I do grab raptors, if you touch them when I am playing udyr I will cut you). It does need to be communicated on your early pathing and if you tell people to stay off specific camps right off the start they should definitely respect it if they want you to gank for them (don't piss off your jungler if you want ganks) And only certain champs can really abuse the early level anyways that have remotely worth clear speed for that camp compared to the gold they'll miss in lane.

If I am playing Leona with a Graves or Corki ADC, I am going to ask if we are able to take a camp at the start, because that early xp can easily be turned into a won lane because of the level 2 engage I will definitely be doing if we hit it first. The camp closest to bot lane is 100% the most efficient and I hope that our jungler can avoid that camp at the start for higher chance of us winning lane hard enough to hopefully be able to draw jungle pressure our way (opening up more ganking/counterganking opportunities for him as well) As a jungler I have like 4-5 different paths I can do per champ I play, and while I do have favorites I can accommodate for my teams early game exceptionally well by changing where I start. And if people ask I am likely to be willing to give them certain camps early, but I will also give advice on whether that would even be worth it and will deny if I really feel like it would just be a hindrance (like Ezreal + Sona wants to start gromp, I am going to request they just start in lane)

It is because they do in in the LCS, and they do it there because they are at a high enough skill level that reaching level 2 first in lane can win the lane right there. At lower levels it does not matter nearly as much.
