As of now, support is basically "Stick with the ADC and help them for 15 minutes then help the rest of the team." And since most supports can't do anything on their own, they either tank what they can before running away or dying, or just get popped. It would be neat to see supports be more utility, like you can last in your own lane and then provide utility for your team. It would be neat to see more Taric top lanes and Bard mid lanes!
KillerPenguins1 votesI honestly think supports just need to be able to earn gold without the ability to abuse it in other lanes (I'm looking at you, spooky ghosts!) Why not make the gold generation items remove last-hit gold entirely, but share gold that other champs get nearby? Like a reverse targon's. That way it can't be abused by mid laners, the support gets rewarded for helping the adc stay alive and farm, etc?

ADC gets 100%, but support gets a % less than 100? That's just a nerfed ancient coin line.
ADC gets <100% but and the support gets a % such that the total is >100%? Then you get strategies where the support is forced to intentionally not get the item in order to give the adc a gold lead, leaving the supports themselves even further behind in gold than currently.

Kempachi Taichou1 votesFirst, if you're asking your support to tank, you are doing it wrong. Supports will never have the gold income to keep up withother roles, so you're puting a high need income on the lowest income champ, kind of not smart.
Supports that aren't tanks can help the ADC and the still survive in lane alone...

First, I am the support who is told to die for team and tank. Secondly, that isn't what I was referring to.
I'm talking about make supports less of a ADC heal/CC/shield/poke bot and make them into a utility based champion who can have a lane themselves without throwing the whole support item thing off balance.
Take and for example. They both can work in mid lane and can benefit themselves with their shields, damage, and CC, but they also provide utility they have for the rest of their team.
