The addition of Dead Man's Plate

So when I heard this item was transferred over from Black Market Brawlers made me really happy. I personally haven't used it in any of my games but I can see it being pretty good on supports and of course tanks. Really happy to see that Riot added this item to Summoners Rift but there is still one item I was hoping to get into Summoners Rift.

Martyr's Gambit

To refresh your mind here.

It builds out of item 3067 and item 3801 with a total cost being 1850, lowering down to 400 when you have both item 3067 and item 3801 .

The stats are: 400 Health 100% base health regen 10% cool down reduction

Over all an ok looking item for how much it cost but what really shines is the active. _" Binds yourself to the target allied champion for the next 3 seconds, redirecting 60% of all damage dealt to them to yourself. 30 second cooldown." _

This Active is amazing and was hoping to see it transfer over like Dead Man's Plate. I don't really know why it wouldn't be added into the game, maybe because of its amazing active making basically a must buy on tanks and tanky supports.

no.

we dont need hypercarries turning into tanks with a full damage build, because their support decided to put 60% damage reduction on them. certain champions are intended to be squishy. giving them that much protection is far too much.

it sounds like a good idea, but would end up terrible.

lifesteal alone would mean an adc can literally facetank anyone he wants with that kindof buff. the windows at which an adc is threatened by diving bruisers, assassins or by the burst of mages arent usually that long. they need to be vulnerable when out of position.

so... hell no. unless you want to deal with a vayne with a free alistar ult.

There are ways to balance it, perhaps by also splitting all healing done between both people, and maybe allowing damage against the tank to be directed to the carry as well. This would make it only an effective form of protection against single target damage.

This is why i'm pretty sure it wasn't transferred over with Dead Man's but hey we have a balance team for a reason right?

Martyr's Gambit seems a bit strong for a regular item, however as with Trickster's Hourglass it could be turned into a rather interesting idea for a champion skill. Perhaps Martyr's Gambit could work for a reworked Taric?

Actually like this idea one might say its....._fabulous _ Taric

No but seriously I like the idea alot.

Taric's new kit is already set in stone Gems. They've completed everything in terms of gameplay and are going to release him late this year or very early next year, and all that they are working on right now is art assets (like VO, VFX, SFX, Splash arts, model design, etc.)

They have, but it's also possible they wanted to live test one of his abilities before the kit is ready for the PBE.

Rainbow vote here :p.

I think it wouldn't be very popular. True tanks (i.e. not supports but those with gold) wouldn't want to waste an item slot on it because it's a little spot inefficient (bad stats for a final item, the active is the only use). Supports wouldn't find much use for it until late game.

I'd love to see it modified though. Make it cost 2300-2800 and give it a bit more stats. Possibly reduce the effect to 2 seconds to make it more about timing for burst. I'd love to see it in the game as it's truly vital for tanks with little peel to protect their carries.

I'd also love to see at least one of the lost chapter books make it in season 6, i think tricksters glass is really unlikely, as are tele boots, and staff of flowing water. Otherwise though, the items seem like potential pre-s6 testing stuff with possibly a few mods.

make it cost as much as a full item and buff its stats and i'd fully welcome it. the item as it is now, as much as i like the active, it not worth the waist of space it would be late game.

Maybe in a nerfed state (say 20% damage transfer down from 60%) it could work and not be broken, but 60% for 3 seconds is too strong for standard gameplay.
