Pantheon, as a character, is bland

Not trying to be harsh be harsh or nothing but in my opinion that's how he feels like.

Of course him before this lore revamp was no different. He was a guy who would woop ass without the slightest hesitation. But his Pantheon is all about kicking ass.

Now that sounds weird but its the truth. This Pantheon only has that one thing about him, there is no other goal he has, no dreams, nothing else. I got remind this with the teaser of him standing at the top of a mountain looking into the night sky. Its sad because I don't see them giving him any actual character growth sure he'll have stories but i'm sure they will all be the same, him just beating up an army of people.

Maybe its the lack of information we have on the Aspects that makes him seem this way. Or perhaps they showed us Atreus a character that had goals, a dream, depth and then removed him to give us this flat cardboard. Perhaps these things combined make me feel like Pantheon is extremely boring of a champion.

Either way this is just my opinion on it. Oh yea as far as the teaser goes, i'm pretty sure its Aurelian Sol. But that's just because "Sol" sounds close to "soul", kid you not this is the reason.

It fits his aspect honestly. War is emotionless. War is moraless. War is characterless. War is cruel. War is blunt.

Atreus gave up everything to gain that aspect. Not every character needs to be complex and emotional or even relatable. Pantheon is just a soldier.

Overall I also think he comes off as bland, but in the end he barely had any screentime so far,so it is hard to judge.

I mean what lore do we have about him?He fell from the stars and kicked ass, then he kicked ass in his color text(and said color texts are pretty much all about kicking ass),so its not like we have that much lore about him. Maybe we get a bit more of his character when he meets one of his own(and considering the teaser that might happen soon)

Or perhaps they showed us Atreus a character that had goals, a dream, depth and then removed him to give us this flat cardboard.

The thing is, Atreus achieved his dreams and goals. He became the greatest warrior, the last one standing at the peak of the mountain. His story was finished. Pantheon's story might not have much yet, but he has the opportunity to grow and become more.

I'm pretty sure its Aurelian Sol. But that's just because "Sol" sounds close to "soul", kid you not this is the reason.

Its infinitely more likely that it's because 'Sol' means 'Sun' in Latin.

Its a good story if you realize that they may not have wanted to create a character that will change, but rather a good story of a character we will feel sorry for. He sacrificed his personality and old life for what he believed his people needed.

One thing to remember is while that may be Atreus' body, it is no longer Atreus.

"This was no star, but a warrior mantled in starlight and bearing a gleaming, golden shield and spear of legend. He had landed in a warrior’s crouch, one knee lowered to the ground, and as he looked up at the enemy defiling the lands of Mount Targon, the Rakkorans saw it was Atreus… and yet not Atreus. The Aspect of the Warrior had infused him, and he was now both mortal and immortal, the incarnation of war made flesh. He was now an avatar of battle. He had become the Pantheon."

"Atreus’s family mourned their son and held a funeral for him. While they had suspected he was dead after he had not returned from the expedition, now his demise was confirmed. The Pantheon Aspect had obliterated his personality, memories and emotions. Atreus’s flesh was nothing but a shell inhabited by the supernatural Aspect of War; his mortal soul had joined those of the ancestors in the celestial afterlife."

He's meant to be shallow now. There's literally nothing left of the human Atreus, he is now only a fighting machine.

It is assumed that Atreus entered the "Real Targon", and thus he obviously left; well, his body did. The Rakkorans believe his spirit was taken away to reside in the afterlife while his body became the Pantheon of war.

I'm not saying you're wrong in the slightest, you're 100% right. He is bland, plain, shallow. But that's literally what he was created to be.

The hope is that there's an event like with Burning Tides, and we see more character development from there.

Not only as a character is he bland, but his design is so bland and uninspired. They literally plucked him out of a history textbook or some Roman mythology story.

Like most champions in this game >_>

LoL is not realy a good platform to tell storys and develop charakter.

For example we dont even know about the motivations or what drives champions on the rift. Riot knows this and try there best to improve it with events and lore updates.

I stop caring about the lore in this game because it makes no longe sense.

I think there will be more to him. These stories are just the beginning. We have a base that we understand, now these characters can grow and change.

Yes he's bland NOW, but this is the start of his journey. There will be more to come down the line, I'm sure.
