Nope not exactly, they made a change to aa animations so that they cant be stopped as easyly as before. ( for example jinx can now kite with her atkspeed slow and wont cancel aas as easyly, riven is not the only champion) It just happens that you can use the fast combo faster now because of that change, but you still have to be able to use it, and honestly, against champions the amount of people who can pull that off consistently is very very small, I mean heck, even players like dyrus dont want to learn it because its too much effort to do consistently~ One funny note, a lot of people in higher elo who actually main riven and know how to do that feel like it hinders them more then it helps in most scenarios because it feels so weird to use. So overall its not a big deal for the majority of the playerbase, but because people dont like riven and saw that random clip where somebody does the fast combo on a camp ( what is a lot easier then against moving champions) everybody is freaking out, its always like that when something happens with that champion because people just dislike her. So, all in all, if you are below diamond elo or high plat and face a riven chances are something like 99% that you wont feel a difference at ALL against her. ( wont stop people from blaming the bug for it :P)

Gona cut in here, been playing Riven since Season 4 and the bug is really easy to notice. It actually speeds up the Fast Combo a considerable amount, but requires you to speed up your inputs as well. It took me a couple hours in custom games to get used to it.

It also makes her Q animations look super weird when she basically teleports 180 degrees to do an auto attack.

I wouldn't say this bug hinders Riven at all, if anything it helps, but no one likes it since the combo timing they've been using for YEARS is suddenly a lot different.

I didn't hear about this before now. It looks like it takes actual practice to use, so I doubt it'll make a huge impact on anyone who doesn't practice with her regularly, so basically this means no one will be able to just jump on the hype train and just do well with her, and even less do this.

Thats probably why she has not been disabled, tbh. If it takes skill and practice to execute, it has less to do with the champion and more to do with the player. This isn't a easy game breaking bug that everyone and their mother can exploit, lets just put it that way.

If I had to guess, if Riven is getting a buff from this global auto attack change, then its not at all unlikely that other AD casters and assassins got a buff from this also, like Zed, Olaf, Darius or Yasuo to name just a few. Meaning this is not strictly speaking a "Riven problem." She's never been the only champ that uses auto attack animation cancels.

well trouble is riven using it is deemed "core" and would cause shockwaves through the community if she ever lost her abuse of the code lets be honest here, while Zed a while back had to be changed so he couldn't AA cancel because that was abusing a mechanic of the game...

The change was basically a buff for all champs, animation cancelling champs and ADCs get the most out of it though. And btw, Vi is stupid broken now, the combo is soooooo smooth.

The whole thing is so dumb. Kalista's are having trouble even using their passives to jump now. You'ld think the better approach would be to teach players to auto better, not by making it easier ._. I could play riven now, but I'd feel like I'm cheating at league.

It's not a bug, it's just part of the AA changes that gets abused by animation cancels. Abusing an intended feature isn't a bug.

riven and yasuo will never get a proper nerf or be disabled because they are the number 1 champions played by smurfs,my advice to all gold and below players is to just ban yasuo every game if your team doesnt call him.

because the animation cancelling isnt incredibly easy if you didnt know how to do it decently already.

if you dont know, yes basically the frames in which you walk after your cancel has been tripled it seems, it still isnt incredibly easy to do, unless you are playing against plat + riven mains, you literally wouldn't see a difference at all.

I can animation cancel decently enough, better than most i see (excluding obvious smurfs) and i can barely if it all make use of it.

Meanwhile however, nunu is dumpstering everyone with insane movement speed and damage, with 300 e spams that slow on a 4 second cd and an ult that will wreck your face.

Even with the bug riven is weaker than the top meta champs like kennen jayce and such, so she doesnt need to be disabled.

And besides for low elo players this bug is completely irrelevant as you'll never see a riven in your games being capable of doing it.

When i first saw the glitch, I didn't care about the sped up animations for Q and autoattack HOWEVER, that E "blink" (thats what the visual bug makes her e look like) is insanely broken and needs to be fixed. That is a visual bug that should not exist in the first place. Riven's E by itself doesn't move that fast and you can actually see the dash animation.
