Karma prevents any sort of interaction in lane as well as dealing a ton of damage

My question is: when is she getting nerfed?

She got nerfed. and nerfed and nerfed

Sir Rouge5 votes

Wait, a 10 second cd shield that absorbs 70 damage prevents any sort of interaction in lane?! Unless you max it, of course, but then her damage is gonna be very low.

Idc if win rate doesn't mean everything, she has a 47.88% winrate in the support role with a 7.25% play rate, which ranks her 22/25 in terms of win rate in the support role (that's considering that #25 is lux support with a tiny play rate and #23 is bard support, which takes a decent amount of skill to do well with him). How is that OP? And there's nothing broken in her kit, unless you think that the fact that she can root you for a whooping 1 second in lane after being in close range for 2 seconds is broken.

She's clearly balanced. Unless you want her to be like Taliyah or Azir.

as well as dealing a ton of damage

She deals average damage for a mage support, and below average when played as a midlaner according to the statistics.

I don't see any outliers in her statistics that indicate she's in need of a nerf.

TIME TO LOSE KID4 votes

Janna does the same thing except takes zero skill to play, whereas Karma does.

Put shield on your Draven, now he gets a free BF sword and tanks any retaliation.

Jungle come to stop you? Press R.

Janna doesn't do any damage.

Janna doesn't do any damage.

Okay and her shield is a free BF sword for her carry.

Limrick1 votes

Pretty sure he means solo lane Karma, not support Karma

MisterShameless4 votes

I'm still surprised people want Karma's damage nerfed... I mean they removed all her damage on W and E to make her W snare for longer and her E a large shield...

She is a mage first, a support second. Is Brand going to get nerfed? His a good support, but thats a secondary role, not his primary role like Karma.

Another thing to mention is that Karma's damage falls off late game because she has no real ultimate and whenever she has ultimate up as a support, she will almost always use it on her shield and not her Q.

Insidious3 votes

Does she still do the ridiculous AP bruiser/shield+Heal build that throws everyone that tries to fight her on tilt or was that corrected?

Ruin Lance2 votes

that shit still exists actually

inplane3 votes

She needs to be reworked. Her kit is horribly outdated and detached as a result. Bring back some of that Yin-Yang interaction.

Seenan3 votes

Yet another topic I made months ago that got downvoted and ignored. Love this forum.

Meep Man1 votes

A lot can change in a few months, from items, to the meta, to champion nerfs/buffs.

Veltox3 votes

She needs a rework after we finish with more important stuff like Warwick.

Leblancs Boob1 votes

Ryze needs a couple more reworks first.

Veltox1 votes

What exactly is wrong with new Ryze? He can't perma root or draintank like previous reworks.

Leblancs Boob1 votes

It was a sarcastic comment.

Dominick Destine3 votes

In lane? what lane? mid or bot?

She gets ripped apart against most bot lanes....

Blåbæret1 votes

INdeed. I guess that's why she's pick/ban at LCS.

TNHA Baritone1 votes

LCS =/= Solo Queue and LCS most definitely is not Bronze.

That's the problem with lower elo and many summoners in general. Just because you see someone doing it in a pro game doesn't mean you or anyone else can and will do it.

I'm a Diamond level player and I have no problem with Karma.

Maybe this is why you are in Bronze Chaos and I am in Diamond Pride.

Her speedboost is little annoying. You can't catch a good Karma...

Guessing you just played against tank karma top

TNHA Baritone2 votes

Guessing he didn't buy Grevious Wounds or take Ignite.

Catastrop1 votes

Doesn't even have to be tank. Karma top in general is literal cancer. I'd know cuz she's my fave top laner.

Troll for Trump2 votes

She's based on poke, which basically means no engaging, and just staying in the back and dealing dmg without putting yourself at any risk. It's annoying, but it's how she works. She lacks hard cc, peel, mobility, escapes, and tankiness.

Same gimmick with caitlyn, you don't have to commit much; just abuse your range to AA and use your traps and just stay in the back.

Teemo, mini-gnar, also do that in top lane.

JDB8eoX8x02 votes

Karma's huge problem is that she can close gaps with her E and literally put you on a leash. If you can't escape from it, you're inevitably going to take massive burst damage from her Mantra-empowered Q both on bot lane and mid lane. Her kit builds up perfectly into one annoying "I will trade burst damage and you will barely trade anything because my shield blocks it" combination.

Anonagon2 votes

I'm not sure whether you are coming at this from the perspective of a mid laner or a support, but in either case, you are wrong.

Karma does not prevent interaction. Preventing interaction would be something like Morgana, whose Q and E are the definition of uninteractive. Every one of Karma's abilities can be played around. Her shield is weak early, on a long cooldown, and does nothing to prevent CC. Her Q is dodgable, and since its her only damage source you can always retaliate when she pokes. Her CC is after a long delay and requires her to close enough for you to do damage to her.

Her damage is also not that high. All of it is in Q, which while unempowered is just fairly average for a damaging ability, both in base damage and scaling, and which only has a miniscule AoE. Most of the bonus damage from RQ is loaded into the easily avoidable explosion.

TNHA Baritone2 votes

Karma's damage has been the same for SEASONS now....She has never been a problem then. Why would she be a problem now?

Goodbye.

I mean there's a number of champs that can beat her. Look at Blitz and how he's toxic to bot lane, when's he getting nerfed? Or Yasuo? Or Zed?

Point is, there are other champions that are just as strong if not stronger and seem to rarely get nerfs if ever.

Veigarisgod18 votes

Just because they are toxic doesn't mean they are strong.

Around999People1 votes

I'm sorry but it does. The whole reason for them being toxic IS because they are strong. If Yas was weak, he wouldn't be a problem. Same for Zed and Blitz.

Attticus Finch7 votes

Not necessarily. A champion can have a poorly designed kit while also being weak.

Zed and Yasuo are both examples of that, actually. Their kits are extremely annoying to deal with and at times, are even unfair, however Zed has had a piss-poor win-rate for a long time and Yasuo players are renown for hard-feeding, because he's a difficult champion to play despite his kit.

Poorly designed == strong, inherently.

Around999People1 votes

But at the same time the kit could be poorly designed and be strong at the same time. Yas has been one of the most competitive camps for mid lane since his release, so has Zed. Even if they're annoying they're still strong. Zed can still kill his opponent with 1 play if he does everything right, so can Yas. Yas has players that feed because he's hard to play, but remember when the Fiora rework came out! 10/10 players couldn't stop themselves from feeding. As for lose rates, Zed actual,y has counter play to him now, which is great, it just so happens that his counter picks are the meta right now. (I'd assume, not a mid player lol)

But look at Karma, she only gets really strong if built AP, and then it's a hit and miss. She only gets really annoying if you don't know how to beat her. But if you dodge every Q of hers she's useless.

Zerenza3 votes

Well as a mid laner, it's very hard to loose to Yasuo and Zed, you just have to play around them some classic counter's to them are Ahri, Lissandra and Lux. Sure yasuo has a wind wall but if he dashes at you, just CC him, it's simple, for zed his R will actually always make him appear behind you, so CC him. For karma and any other Utility mid Laner, you really should just play safe and try not to die because they deal extremely high damage with usually one ability (their only damaging ability usually) and more often then not just are really hard to kill whether it be because of a sheild or in Zilean's case his revive ultimate. And it becomes especially difficult as a melee mid laner, it's almost impossible to dodge karma or zilean's Q's with a melee mid laner because not only do both of them have really high range and large blast radius's, but CSing as a melee is very VERY difficult in the first place.

I'd argue that karma and other utility mids are just really solid picks if you want to not feed, sure you might not get a kill and you almost certainly won't get fed but you most likely will never loose lane with them. They are really powerful lane bullies.

angery pout1 votes

I don't disagree with what you're saying, but how is Lux a counter to Yasuo and Zed? Yasuo can mitigate all of Lux's kit save for her R and the first pass of her W. A good player will know to Q behind when a Zed goes in so I accept that, but generally Zed is designed to counter and burst down immobile backline (which Lux is) and Yasuo is a skirmisher who relies on outplay to actually win. Ahri is a good counter to both (I like her as an anti-assassin champion) as is Lissandra (invulnerability+multiple CCs.) I just don't get why Lux is grouped with them.

Then again, I just pick Anivia into both and run exhaust to dumpster either one of them.

Zerenza1 votes

It's because she's easy and a solid pick against any mid laner, basically if your a good mid laner you should have no trouble against any match up with her since it's easy for her to counter play enemies, especially if the champion is hard to play because it's easier for them to mess up than for you.

PS: I bait out the windwall, it's not to difficult to bait a yasuo into using it, especially pre 6 and they know that if they don't use it your E will hit them and do lots of damage too, so they don't have much of a choice but to use it against her due to her high damage and well she has very short cooldowns too so you don't have to worry to much about it baiting with your E(i max it first anyway)

Actually another one is Vlad but he got nerfed, your Q will have it's animation canceled but will do damage, it's kind of funny.

angery pout1 votes

I gotchu. Windwall is absurd at level 1 and he maxes it last. I don't play Lux but her Q CD is likely a little over half of windwall so she'll have time to get a full combo off later?

RIP Vlad animation cancels.

Limrick1 votes

If you land bind, he's dead as fuck. If not, you're probably dead instead. So it's like 50-50.

Limrick1 votes

Hate to break it to you, but Lux gets demolished by assassins. Yes, she's an easy, safe pick against MAGES. But assassins destroy her. Hilariously. Even if you bait out WW, it's hard to tag Yasuo with a snare unless he dashes towards you. And his DPS is insane compared to hers, so if you miss, you die. Any Mage that has a skillshot as their only hard CC is not good against assassins. Especially when it's a snare. Also, Lux has very long base cooldowns. They scale down quickly with level, and Lux stacks CDR, but early on her cooldowns are really long. 15 seconds on Q at rank 1, 10 seconds on E at all ranks. Not to mention that max rank E costs 130 mana. Which is more than her ult.

Yasuo was literally just nerfed, and Zed has been nerfed into a mediocre state this season.

Blitzcrank : Built for making picks and dealing damage, with bare bones CC grab, knockup, and silence. Provides little to NOTHING for his ally laner other than the ability to snowball them out of control. He feeds his carry, but doesn't actually 'do anything' as a support besides make picks and lockdown targets. Braum does this + Defensive buffs + A blocking shield. Lux does the same thing with an ally shield. It all depends on landing those key skillshots too, so don't act like you can be a blitz player and be toxic if you can't aim.

Yasuo : Just literally pickMaokai . 20% damage reduction is crippling to Yasuo even if he crits, you have POINT AND CLICK CC on a basic ability, and you can build pure tank and still deal quite a lot of damage with Added CC and sight. Its like people forget he exists half the time.

Zed : Point and click CC, or just build this if you're mage item 3157 , be aware of cooldowns since he's still ultimately really skill/cooldown knowledge reliant, and punish bad moves with quick burst or block his single target damage by having a tank escort to lower Q damage.

Ultîma1 votes

Are you talking about bot or mid?

Because as a mid champ, she's safe, yes - but she doesn't nearly deal the same amount of damage as a proper mage. Her wave clear is okay, but not great. Her greatest utility is kite and reverse-engage, but she's nowhere near the level of Janna, Lulu, Zilean. Karma has good poke, but not as strong as Zyra's or Sona's.

Karma's strength is that she's a generalist - can spend her ult to adapt to most situations - but I wouldn't say that she's an uninteractive character. Soraka is uninteractive because she eliminates trades. Karma not so.

forist1 votes

I think a little clarity on her tether range would be a good start. Something similar to morgana's ult, because I'm sure I'm not the only one who has no clue how far I have to go to break it. Also, the hit-box on her q doesn't really match the actual skill-shot particle, so they could make that more clear as well.

Meep Man1 votes

I feel like all tethers should be like that, to where the caster and targets affected can see the tether range.
