Know what I worry about with the mage update?
The post about the increased toplane difficulty as a melee champ made me think about this. What happens if mages gain the power to migrate to every lane like how adc currently is?

I mean, there are already mages in every role; they're one of the most versatile classes. Brand, Zyra, Annie and so on work as supports; Diana, Fiddlesticks, and Gragas are excellent junglers; Cho'Gath, Kennen, and Lissandra are very valid top laners.
Although they're not ADCs, there are even some mages that fit the 'marksman' pattern (a ranged attacker that sacrifices defensive power and utility to focus on dealing strong, continuous damage to individual targets, according to Morello). http://forums.na.leagueoflegends.com/board/showthread.php?t=3672374&page=1#post39858469 Cassiopeia, Kayle, and Azir are some of the better examples of this.
I don't think the mage update will have the same kind of impact that the marksman update did, simply because mages are ALREADY everywhere.
I don't know why people are talking about ADCs going to different roles like it's something new. Twitch jungle existed for a long time. Quinn and Vayne were both top laners for a long time. Ezreal, and later Varus, were both mid-laners before. It all depends on the specifics of the champion, not just pigeon-holing them into "oh, ADCs only go bot lane". The same thing will happen for mages. Vladmir will probably still be played top.
